Guest Posted December 9, 2005 Share Posted December 9, 2005 They need to fix this or they are going to have a problem attracting casual players.I understand it's one thing for them to be safe in giving money out to people, but hey how can they go about playing the safe game after they have already taken the person's money and just wont allow them to use it?set up a neteller account, it's free and very easyWell the problem is they already took my 100 bucks. The verification process is used for credit cards because it's so easy to steal an identity using a credit card.lol....and nobody can steal your identity when you fax over a copy of your driver's license AND your credit card. Wouldn't having the following items make it very easy to steal some one's identity?1) Photocopy of credit card (front AND back)--> This gives a person your cc. number, expiry date, name, cvr number.2) A copy of some form of photo ID (front and back), such as a Driver'sLicense, passport, or national identity card; indicating your dateof birth. --> This gives a person access to needed "id" when they wish to use your cc.3) photocopy of bill (phone bill/ hydro bill etc.)By the way, what was it you needed to fax them to get your withdrawl processed... I also had difficulty transferring money (having not faxed my life history to support yet...)Nevertheless, I wanted to play, so I decided to transfer the maximum $99 into my poker account, just to give the site a try. I forget...Ummmm, yeah, but then you get to sue everyone from Poker Room to FCP to Daniel himself ... and you can FIND these people. You may or may not win but at least you can find them! On the other hand, if sites don't do this kind of verification and someone gets your cc and/or identity stolen you're going to have NO IDEA where to even begin looking for them and it's over before it even gets started. Paradise, many Prima sites, and many Crypto sites have begun to do this more and more in recent months, although I don't think it's official policy yet. You may not see it because you already play there. This verification process is becoming more and more widespread and we'll probably see it become industry standard for new accounts in the next 12-18 months.Of course, Neteller has their own verification procedure so this is why sites don't require it when you use them as your payment method. Recommending people to send their personal and confidential information by email is a serious misstep.Email is not encrypted in any way and this becomes an issue when anyone with a little computer knowledge can intercept any information that is sent over the internet. When people send credit card information from online shopping sites the information is sent using strong encryption which makes the information extremely hard to decrypt. But emails are sent totally unencrypted and therfore anyone who is tapping in on the information going to and from the FCP email server can read the information in them, including images, without problems.FCP suggesting email as a way of sending in ones credit card information shows a serious lack of technical knowledge and i seriously hope they erase that line from the verification message before someone with bad intentions picks this up and starts collecting credit card numbers sent to FCP... Still it's something they still need to fix. Wouldn't anyone stealing a credit card be depositing much more then a hundred bucks or so? That is also probably the reason why you can transfer your pending bonus to the casino account.
