i wish i:a: had a carb: wasn't working tonightc: could hang out with all you really cool peopleor  d: hadn't registered for this, and one of you "unlucky" ones could have gone.  i'm sorry
Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I really wish these people could have transfered their invites. I am guessing that atleast 40 or so know they can't go already and another 40-50 will decide to not go. Still should be an amzaing tournout, though. It is good to see all the forum regulars from t-dot were invited as that is the way it should be. :club:

I got an invite and I am scheduled to work. I quit my job last week so Im in the 2 week notice period. F work. Thats all I have to say.Wooooo
Remember, you're not unemployed, you're now a professional poker player!
guess what. I lost my job in June and I am now a professional grinder at the 3-6 limit and making more now than when i worked 4 days a week, yay. It's a great tax free life in canada (for gambling winnings that is)JackTheCatIt's all good!
i find it interesting that you can support yourself at this limit. how old are you and where do you play? Brantford? Just a guess, i don't know where Essex is.

This is the first party where I'm not sure what name to introduce myself as.
Do like I do....introduce yourself as Ron Mexico. It attracts the honies....
Don't trash my good name. I've worked hard crafting my image.

What time are you guys planning to show up?I'm aimming between 6:00 - 6:30
I finish work at 4:30...i anticipate at least an hour of traffic, another 30 minutes to find censored parking...grrrrrrrr...so 6ish
There is parking underground at Dundas Square. It is $6 starting at 6:00 p.m. Unless I find better around Ryerson, I'm going to park there.
thanks for the info, but believe it or not, downtown is foreign to me, so finding Dundas Sq's U/G parking should be fun:(
i'm at don mills and steeles...2 blocks north of steeles

I just took a stroll around Toronto to see what it's like although I think I saw most of it as I was driving around aimlessly last night searching for my hotel. My impressions: first of all, it is freakin freezing. Someone should have told me to bring a bigger coat. It seems like a very trendy city, at least the parts that I have seen. There are tons of coffee shops, record stores, and trendy clothing stores. I ate at my favorite Canadian fast food place: Harvey's. I also walked down to the Hard Rock to make sure I knew where it was. The city seems very nice overall. I am going to relax in the hotel lobby for a while and then go back out to walk around the area before I go to Hard Rock for the party. Any suggestions for bars to head to after the party?Marion and bdc.. if you guys want to meet up before the party let me know.. I am at the Days Inn on Carlton Street, right next to Maple Leaf Gardens.

On a Tuesday Night in the city things are not that crazy. But with a Leaf game (NHL) in town you should find some action. If you want to hang out with the downtown biz (suit) crowd then head over to the Keg restaurant on York street at Adelaide (10 minute walk from Hard Rock) and hang out in the lounge. You will see many fine ladies there. If you want something less formal then I suggest the Esplanade Beer Market (Esplanade St at Church st. 15 minute walk from Hard rock) which serves beers from around the world and where you are likely to see the Maple Leafs hanging out after the game.If you want something else give me an idea what you like and I will make a suggestion.
