delphi12 0
Last night at Hustler in LA the board read:5s6h9sth3 players in the pot.. the pot had $120..checked around to the button who bets $200 (with about $400 still behind him) and then flips over his cards (78 no spade or heart) and says I want this pot and I dont want any chasers.. Come and try to get it if you want..There was one guy still in the pot who covered him and seriously considered calling. Imagine if a scare card came like an 8, K, heart or spade and then the guy just goes all in and says, "I see your hand and I know I can beat it."Pretty dumb move, I think.Anyone ever see that before? And why is it legal to do? I thought showing your cards denotes a dead hand (at least I think that is true in tournaments).
tiger47 0
This definitely goes against poker etiquette and should not be done. I've had this done to me before at the Golden Nugget. I just told the poker room manager and she gave the guy a warning. In theory, they could be thrown out the room for doing it again.I would assume that if someone has to do that to win money that you want to keep them in the game.
Smiddywap 0
If someone's dumb enough to give you complete information on a hand, I want that person at my table every night.
jonnyz 0
dumb for obvious reasons but also anyone who would do something to prevent people from chasing does understand the game.

ForRealDD 0
I don't think I read this right.A player sitting on $600. He wants to make money, but doesn't want people putting money in the pot when they are behind? I love this game....

Razor 0
Similar incident that I hope ppl will find amusingI was playing 3/6, and I was drunk as usual. A middle aged man who just happened to be a horrible poker player was also playing. I played for about an hour at this guys table, and he would not shut up about how horrible everyone else at the table was playing. He had gotten run down by a guy with Q2 off and this was the hand he kept going back to.As I mentioned, I was drunk and I tend to get vocal when I'm drunk, so instead of causing a scene with this guy I left and went to another table. When that table broke up, about 2 hours later, I was transferred back to douchebag's table, where he was STILL going on and on and on. I tried to explain to him, in a drunken sarcastic fuck you kinda way that he sucked and that he should be happy that people are calling his raises with Q2 offsuit. He wouldn't shut up, so I told him the next time we get in a pot I'll tell him my cards so maybe he can take one down, or at least not complain when I suck out on him. I was drunk ppl 'cmon now!! A few hands later I pick up Kd2d in the big blind. Douchebag decides to play, no one raises and when it gets back to me I announce my exact hand to the table "King, duece of diamonds everybody". The flop comes K, 2, 5 rainbow ... I start laughing and bet out. two people call .. including the douche bag who now announces he as A,3. The turn is a blank ... I bet out again ... one fold and DOUCHE CALLS!! ... I'm laughing at him now. The river brings ..... you guessed it ..... the fucking 4!!!! .... uggghhhThis guy has been berating ppl non-stop for 3 hours, and then he gets paid off when he hits his gutshot. All I could do was laugh. Then I said to him ... "now there ... see ... I don't make fun of fish when they suckout on me, so neither should you"good times!
Saralynelle 0
The sad but true part about that is you are going to have someone who has two hearts in hand play into the pot and hope to make the flush since they are on the draw already. Tiger said it best..that was bad poker etiquette.

kers2 0
Another point to consider. Isn't it possible the player exposed his cards to induce action?? His bet obviously gave incorrect odds to anyone drawing to a flush or full house, then he showed his cards. It's very possible that the other two players in the hand will ignore the "odds" because they now know the exact hand they need to make to beat the original bettor's hand. The other players in the hand now have complete information about the original bettor. You know there are some players who will ignore the odds just to try to make a hand they know will win, and if that is the case the original bettor has made a lot more money if they miss their draw than he would have.Just a thought
