Been given like $10-20 by a poker site and just try and build that into an actual roll? I just found I had a free $10 from pokerroom and figure I'll try and grind it out. Usually when I recieve this I just use it to freeroll a tournie or donk shortstack at a NL table. Of course, I've pretty much wasted it every time but decided that I'm going to see how far I can go with this. This is going to be combination of massive discipline as well as luck since it's not a proper BR for any limit they offer, but I figure I will play one microlimit table on the side whenever I do my regular tables.

Yeah, I first started playing poker (actually not knowing how to play at all) with the Royal Vegas 10 bucks, and I sat down at .25/.50, and won my first hand, kept winning until I got to 300. Then I started playing MTTs and got it up to 2k. That's why I LOOOVE Royal Vegas!

I wasn't given money, but I won $0.60 in a freeroll on Paradise. I started playing the micro limit games with it and ran it up to about $1,000. Mostly thanks to the $0.5/$1 7-stud (which is amazingly easy to beat), the $50 NL hold-em, and $1-$2 draw.I'm now trying the same thing on Absolute. I won $13 in freerolls and am trying to play micro limit tables and $0.50 sngs to build it up. Just to see if I can. It's really slow going, though. I'm actually down $3 right now. Paradise was easier b/c they had micro limit 7-stud (stud's my best game). On Absolute, I'm stuck with limit hold-em until I have enough to put $10 on the line in a NL game. Building a bankroll on nothing but limit hold-em is very time consuming.

I won $5 in a Pacific freeroll last year and ran it up to $350 before losing it to poor BR management. Recently, they gave me a free $10 and I ran it up to over $400 by taking risky shots at high limits. A bad string of luck knocked in to under $100, but now it's sitting at around $220. I play 2/4 with my $220, so there's still a good chance I'll lose it all again, but the play is so horrible that I doubt it.

i ran the free empire 25 up to like 350 before i cashed out by jumping right into a 1-2 limit game. Not good bankroll management I know, but its more fun that way.If all you have is way you get as free money then try and grind it up, if you have money in other places then dont waste your time at micro limits.

Turned 38 cents into 600 once, when I was just starting, great happiness followed. And other month made 50 into 1900, the proceeded to lose it all, somehow. Its very possible. If you are patient, you can play 2 NL forever till you have like 40 bucks. Then try and try again till your successful. It you have a lot of free time on your hands its doable.

How's this for a story...A friend and i had an account with nothing in it. We signed up for a free roll on party for later one night. We ended up going out somewhere, so we never played in it.A few days later we went on, only to find a message that roughly $2 was deposited into our account, which was the equivalent of our chip stack in the free roll when there were connection problems, forcing them to cancel it.... while we were blinding out. Cool, a free $2. What the **** can you do with that though?.... With that $2 something, I played the $2+0 MTT that has 2000-3000 people in it at his house. I came in second, for something in the ballpark of $800.With the $800, we won another $1,900 in a LHE MTT, coming in first of several hundred people. With that, we won roughly $500 more with a final table in a NLHE MTT.What a run, eh?We withdrew all but a few hundred and divied that up between our own personal accounts. $200 for him, $200 for me.Everything i have online since then has been from that amount.... roughly $2,500 more from .50/1 and 1/2 and .10/.25NL.Online poker has been good to me.

well, i actually started (that is, started over) this year in february on a free 25 bucks from pokerroom, used 5 to enter a MTT, and a 2nd place finish started a chain of events that led from me being just another lucky bastard to learning BR management and upping my roll (and lately, downswing-ing it) to 12k with over 60k in additional cashouts. a lot of that was MTT wins, but i've moved more toward limit in the last couple months for a more consistent gain.generally speaking, though, i am not opposed to taking a shot at low dollar MTTs if you can afford to lose the money as "fun money" and not as bankroll. the play is f-ing terrible, and the payoff can be huge if you can just dodge enough bullets.
