GhostfaceKillah 0
I am primarily an NL player, but ive been off my game. I have been terrible lately. A portion of it has to do with the poor luck, the other half is poor decisions. I feel the need to go out and read some literature and go back to the basics. I was wondering if you guys thought it was a good idea to switch to some limit? And if so? What literature do you guys recommend? I intend to pick up TOP and I just ordered HOH vol2. Any suggestions? GhostfaceKillah 0
Im at a point right now where ill do anything to get my game back on track. I was a winning player for a while. In recent months ive been in a downcycle and ive noticed my game is shot. I find myself gambling alot more, and my reads are off in important spots, whereas in the past i can always trust em. benhoug 0
I feel the need to go out and read some literature and go back to the basics.I did this very thing several months ago. I had VERY LIMITED Limit Hold 'Em experience, and played it w/ blind aggression. I read Small Stakes Hold 'Em (by Miller) and started w/ a new BR, playing exclusively LHE. I have now become, in my humble opinion, quite a Limit Hold 'Em player, and I do feel it has improved my other games as well. I just find myself thinking about the best possible play to maximize my earnings in every situation, whereas I used to just bet bet bet. I think the switch can only improve your play. I went all the way back to the $10 NL tables a few times. I know the felling of a depleting bankroll and pushing the limits you should play. The basic feeling is I need to win a $150 pot now, not later now, not be up $150 in 8hrs, NOW.Keep plugging away man. Playing limits well within (30+buyins) ur BR will help. TobyOrNotToBe 0
Limit has far less variance but less upswing also. Small Stakes Hold Em/Sklansky and Low Limit Hold Em/Lee Jones are a must read. Limit has slowly built up my bankroll nicely.

ajs510 122
You would be much better off taking a break with some low-limit PLO than making the plunge into Limit HE. Trust me, take a break and return to NL...Don't go into the light!

Limit has slowly built up my bankroll nicely.variance is higher in limit than no limit. also wait till you raise all you can and still get 5 to the flop with your aces, and then Q-2 hits two pair and you lose 27BB. it is a tough game, don't let anyone fool you. I actually think it is tougher.

Any suggestions?I started getting sick of the low limit online nl tables, so i switched to limit. I now multi table .5/1 limit while playing a sng. I find its a consistent way to make mindless money. The more you play the more mechanical the game gets, you can play wihtout thinking most of the time. I've also combined my new limit knowledge and my penchant for tournaments and I've started to play a few limit tourneys. Tonight I had a nice breakthrough and won a 10$ limit tourney on stars. Although I dont make a killing with limit, the 5-7bb's i win an hour defintely helps build the bankroll(as does the 570 i won tonight in the tourney!).
