I usually play shorthanded 1/2 or 2/4 PL so my full table skills are a bit rusty. I think this play may have been to passive? We were fairly deep stacked with me at about 280 and 2 of the players with 300+. And with the 3 callers I thought I just could not call out of position most likely being quarterd. navybuttons 15
again every hand is unique. basically you need to be paying a lot of attention to the other players i.e. who will always call/bet with a low vs. a high vs. both. it sounds to me like you knew that you were quartered and with pot limit you definately need to follow your instincts.as in the hand you stand the chance to get counterfeited and you probably stand no chance for a high (flopped flush and especially when the board pairs) i don't think there's anything wrong with letting the hand go when you did. putting a lot of money in pot when you only hold the nut low is not a recipe for winning hi-lo (especially when there are still cards to come.)i'd much rather get my money in the pot when i hold the nut low and i have the nut flush draw and in pot limit i'll just wait till a similar situation arises. gl. Chamonyx 0
good fold -oop, no cf protection and need runner-runner for high
ThatPkrGuy 0
easy fold imo...well done opyou have invested a woppin 2 in the pot...and have virtually no shot at winning the high and are obv looking at getting quartered here with two flat calls with an original pot bet. TGoldman 0
you have invested a woppin 2 in the pot...and have virtually no shot at winning the high and are obv looking at getting quartered here with two flat calls with an original pot bet.The second part of your advice is good. Your comment about having "invested a woppin 2 in the pot" is meaningless, and it's the 2nd time I've seen posters here use it to justify a course of action. The amount you have committed into the pot in past streets is a sunk cost, and should NEVER be considered when making present decisions.
Rocketwadster 0
I think that is an amazing fold, that 99% of the people reading this post probably wouldn't have made. Not sure if it was correct or not in THAT hand (meaning would you have gotten quartered - but results don't matter), but based on knowledge alone, nice! 8)
