FWW, a friend of mine who is friends with Gus Hansen (he's introduced me to him so I know they're friends) has confirmed as much to me. Based on the thread on this forum I asked him "Did Gus Hansen go broke?". He told me that Gus did in fact borrow some money from a mutual friend, but that's all he'd say. Now, does that mean that Gus is living out of a box? Absolutely not. Do poker players often go broke (if they don't have big endorsement money coming in)? Absolutely. Most top players have backers available for this very reason. I'm not attacking Gus by saying this. Why is this such a big deal, especially considering Gus' playing style?
