DeaconMike 0
Ok, after playing online for the last three years and having ok results, and since the closest casino is 4 hours away, i got invited to play in a small poker league tourney that plays twice a week and will run til feb. 1st. The first night i played, monday with only 13 players playing i won. So last night with 32 players playing (2/3 of em drunker than Otis from the Andy Griffith show) i'm thinkng this is gonna be easy. Deac makes loud buzzer sound here. It's a no limit hold em type league and of course every hand at least 3-4 people stay in no matter what ya bet. In fact, one hand i went all in holding A-A and get called by a player holding Q-9os. Luckily i survived that. But after 2 hours of play and being down to 21 chips i get dealt A-Ks,,so i bet 5 and get 2 callers,,,flop comes 2c-6s-Ah,,the 2 callers check to me and i do my best impersonation of mike the mouth and go all in,,,and of course the other 2 players call,,the turn comes 10c and the ricer comes 4c,,,and of course the one caller has a small straight and the winner of the hand won with,,you guessed it a FLUSH,,hmm sorta like what happens on PP. Anyway, what's the best strategy for playing people like that? That call and stay in trying to outdraw ya,,,Is it put the least amount of chips in til you see the river and make sure you have the nutz? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Like i said it's a small league but i thought playing a live game might give me a little experience for when i make a trip to Tunica, but the way these people play i'm not sure it will help much. But maybe that's how people in live games play, at least the smaller amount games.

ThatPkrGuy 0
When your playing against a group of donks simply play tight and punish them when you flop big hands...top 2 ectIf the draw out on which they will from time to time don't get to upset after all thats what donks do and without donks who would we take money from in the long run! toddkrit 0
WOW!! Welcome to my life!! I felt like I was reading something that I would have written! I hope that some of the posters here that know the game better than I do (which isnt very hard!) actually take this post seriously and help people like us out. Ive been reading this forum for a long time and have learned alot from you guys, but this never seems to get discussed. Basically the question is, How do you stop having a whole night of "bad beats" when your "technically" playing right. Raising and reraising in the right positions and still having 2, 3,4, and 5 callers. I know that people say to keep playing right and it will end up in your favor, but when you raise large with KK and you have players who call with A7o, Q8s, and cards like that it seems that 1 out of those callers ALWAYS catch. Whats the best way to play people like this? Thanks alot.
ThatPkrGuy 0
Basically the question is, How do you stop having a whole night of "bad beats" when your "technically" playing right. You can't...Its going to happen from time to time. Thats why you don't focus on the short game. Poker is all about long run statistics. If you play every hand right and walk away losing the tourney by all means just don't get upset. If i walk away from a tourney a loser but in my mind i played everything perfectly i'm happy with myself.Playing Perfect poker is all anyone can ask of themselves. The rest is up to random statistics....or "luck" if thats what you wanna call it.
theone 0
This is why poker is so difficult.. The best players can and do lose a lot... You dont see that in sports...
toddkrit 0
Seems to be turning around finally. Out of the last 6 tournies I have won 4 of them. It was a long run of bad beats and then me pushing myself to catch back up. Finally sat back and looked at my game and the other players bad game and plugged some holes. Thanks for the help. Anyone else have this problem?
