my "don't" read poker books theory?

I can still not see how reading poker books would hurt you more than it helped. There's a quote from Amarillo Slim on one of the books I read saying how he wishes that this book would have been around 40 years ago for him, or something like that. I dont know if that was a sincere quote or not...

Yep, you're right. That quote is on the back of "Play Poker Like the Pros", easily the best poker book ever written.

Yep, you're right. That quote is on the back of "Play Poker Like the Pros", easily the best poker book ever written.
I actually think is it one of the worst I have ever read. Hellmuth nearly breaks his arm patting himself on the back. My favorite one is when he says "It is hard to fold aces preflop, but I can do it. And I have been right EVERY single time because EVERY time I did my opponent had pocket aces." Wow, he can dodge bullets. And lie.

I agree, its a good thing Hellmuths weren't in on writing the Bible, It would Phil changing water into wine and 7 2 into AA...
