pokerplayer24 0
PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is SB with 7:spade:, 7:heart:. UTG raises.Flop: (7 SB) 3:heart:, 9:club:, 3:diamond: (3 players)Hero checks, UTG bets, UTG calls.Turn: (5.50 BB) Q:club: (2 players)Hero bets, UTG calls.River: (7.50 BB) 5:club: (2 players)Hero checks.....I tend to check the river OOP when I make this play with mid pp. Am I missing out on a lot of value doing so vs what seems like overs. TheCinciKid 0
What are you doing if he bets the river? What sort of hand range do you have him on? It wouldn't surprise me if he has a 9 here. I'm not sure I even like the play up to the river, but I'm not exactly the most experienced shorthand player around. I will now get out of the way and see what the more experienced have to say. pokerplayer24 0
I would be shocked if my opponent didnt 3 bet me on the flop with 9x.He raised preflop and I assumed his flop bet to be just a continuation bet once he just called my flop raise. So A10-AK, KQ, KJ, QJ possibly K10 or A9 is what I figured.i'm calling any river bet.
TheCinciKid 0
I think it's fine then. I'm not too happy about the Queen on the turn, but he's probably raising if it hit him. I think you only bet the river if you think he'll call down with A-high. I would personally tend toward another bet, but I may be spewing when I do that.
screech 0
I'd bet it.I think you'll get a call from ace high more often then you'll induce a bluff from ace high.
justblaze 0
im check-calling against aggressive players and bet-folding passive players. checking this river to a passive player is a mistake since he will check behind with anything you beat and bet with anything you cant. You're usually ahead here, against all but the most passive opponents who don't 3bet with overpairs and even then, there's a good chance that you're ahead. If he's loose passsive, bet/fold.If he's tight passive, check/fold. If he's loose aggressive, bet/call.If he's tight aggressive, check/call.
pokerplayer24 0
all short handed isnt being posted in the limit forum anymore?
Actuary 3
I really like this line.I think checking is fine here, as overs will usually fold and better hands always call. Getting overs to take a stab is nice.I need to be more aggressivve with mid-pairsI like the flop c/r, great flop to do it. You are bet/folding the turn, right?******reading replies*******I'd have to have a really strong read to fold to a bet here...really strong.Going back to Credibility Theory... among the population of 1/2 players, a large percentage of them bet this river with overs when checked too. Even if they have otherwise passive stats.I like c/c 90% of the time

pokerplayer24 0
Yea the turns a bet fold as this player was basically your normal 1/2 6 max player. Loose passive calling station
AceJackOffS 0
I bet the river everytime. In short handed limit if your willing to call you should bet. If he had a queen he would raise the turn, if he had a nine he would 3 bet the flop. There are too many hands that you can beat. Get the value at the end. He may even fold 88 on the river
DCWildcat 0
You'd be a fool to not call a bet here, so you should be betting out. Like screech said, you're getting called by A high more than you're getting bluffed at by it.
