I lost $2200 the other day playing 15/30 and 3/6 NL, but it came the day after my biggest win, and it only took me about three days to win it back with interest. It was the biggest cash sum I've lost, but not really my "worst loss" altogether. When I moved back to Pullman for school this year, my internet was disconnected for about a week. I finally realized it was on again at 2:00 AM after having already played live for about four or five hours that day, and of course, decided to play poker. I got stuck, and ended up playing for about 9 hours straight. I went through my entire online bankroll, and then started taking money out of my bank account, and losing that too. I started playing 5/10, then went to 10/20, and eventually ended up playing some 15/30. All told, I lost $1600 which amounted to almost a whole summer's worth of profits, and didn't exactly put me in a sunny mood the next day. Looking back at it, I was sure it was more, but I actually kept records that day, so I can just look in the notebook, and see that $1600 was indeed the sum.

wow you guys all got off easy.i've had at least 3 or 4 3 or 4k losses. After i've really lost it, i generally black out and forget how much i have actually lost and focus hard on just being the biggest and angriest prick i can be while continuing to rack up big L's.It's pretty sweet actually.
Yeah what he said

lost $2800 twice ...first one I sulked for a week...second one, I recovered from in the AM, so technically it was the next day. These days I can handle a $500ish downward swing, but anything more still stings.

-820 in one night triple tabling 1/2 NL ... this was the worst session of a 3 week bad run... total net loss over run .. -2k. It still makes me sick thinking about it. After the 9th 2 outter and 4th losing full house I actually vomited. Really.

1400 bucks playing 5/10NL at the borgata.in fact i had a fun run there playing 5/10 NL.In a 5 day span playing solely 5/10NL+2900 -800+400-1400+300I had some extra cash on me so I decided to play much higher than I ever do. it ended up ok but I will be sticking to the 1/2 and 2/5 NL games there from now on.On a side note the competition at the 5/10NL game was no better than the 2/5 game and only a little better than the 1/2 game. go figure.

You guys are making me feel better but back when i was learning limit holdem I was playing way out of my $700 bankroll and lost about 500 playing 5 10 limit. Was drunk as hell but actually had a carryover tilt if that makes sense and lost the rest the next day. Crushed me, I think Mike Caro has a name for it. Forget what it is but its when you've lost so much that you actually become numb to it and no matter what your cards are you will lose. no matter what. You just get desensitized and even if your a good player you play like shit. I sucked back then anway looking back on it but I did lose way to many hands with aces and kings and such. Thought I was the unluckiest player in the world. I was unlucky that day but turns out I really just sucked at limit holdem. It was a while ago and I think looking back on it, it was actually worth it. I finally realised I wasn't as good as I thought I was which encouraged me to read more books, study more and get better. Only been playing a little over a year though so I'm sure I'll be back soon when I get drunk go on tilt and lose 1000 when I jump into a nl game or plo game. gl
