Jayray 0
I play in a weekly home game...nothing big...$10 buy in NL Holdem..last week we were playing and realized half way through the night that the deck was not right...there were 5 Q's and only 3 K's.....we had made sure that we had 52 cards, but had not checked more than that....should we have started over? We had already had 3 guys bust out...all in hands that involved K's and Q's...what would you guys do?

As long as no one knew, there wouldn't be any advantage, so you could make the arguement for continuing on with a new deck. Personally, I'd vote for starting the tourney over. If that wasn't possible, refunding the money. Then everybody bitch slap the person who supplied the deck of cards.--RuffRidr
ajs510 122
The only thing you can do in that situation is fix the deck and move on...Whatever you decide is going to be unfair for someone (either the player that would have had the chips or the player who has the chips...) Best thing to do is just move on, and make sure someone checks the deck before starting play from then on...I can't believe it took half a night's play to realize there were two Qd's (or whatever the suit was)...my table would have pounced all over that one pretty quick...Welcome to FCP, BTW. seed of Doyle 0
Refund the $$ to those players who were busted out. Get a new deck of cards, and kill your poker host. Always check decks face up and put the cards in order before the game so everyone sees that it is a proper deck.

If someone had a problem, then yea, shuffle up and deal it again.

Tantalar 0
Actually, a few months ago. I ran into a the exact same situation, same buy in, home game style. There were 2 Q of spade and someone got pocket QQspade. We were using one of the decks that says "it was used in an actual casino" Wow that casino must suck huh. I think it was BEE playing cards, not sure...

Ebonwoulfe 0
If it was discovered in the middle of a hand, you completely undo the hand, the problem is solved, and you replay the hand.If it happens between hands, you solve the problem and move on.There is no refunding of money to people who play with an improper deck. It's definately someone's fault, but what's done is done.

Aschlanser 0
I have something somewhat like that...except the odds of it happening are so small i couldn't even guess what they are.At my home game we were just playing .25/.50 and we had been playing for a little while when this hand came up. We were playing 8 handed or so and three went to the flop. The Flop came 6 6 9, i look at my friends hand next to me and he has an A6. he bets, is called by one person. Turn comes a J or something. he bets, guy calls. river comes a 6. he bets. guy raises all in. he calls immediatly stands up and says 4 sixes..at the same time as the other kid flips his hand over and says 4 sixes.. both of them were dealt an A6, and the 6's being the same suit. it was pretty crazy.
