cemo76 0
Yeah, I hear you man.Phil is one of the best Tournament players around, after DAniel Son of coarse. Alot of people are upset that he got in without qualifying though. I on the other hand think if they allow you why not? Now he will win it and there will be more controversy. I wonder if Daniel will get upset?
allinbluff35 0
Now he will win it and there will be more controversy.nope, Matusow wins because he owns.
geauxtime 0
nope, Matusow wins because he owns.Right on the money! "The mouth" takes it home! You know he wanted that bad, huh? Hoyt and Hellmuth round out top three. Interesting seeing Dannennman make another nice run (5th). Hellmuth finishing so high will undoubtedly raise more controversy whether he should have been in the tourney or not. Should be interesting to see what happens.

blueodum 0
Hellmuthians make me sick. Here is your hero's reaction after getting outplayed by Mike and Hoyt and knocked out in 3rd place:Phil Hellmuth has been talking to ESPN in his exit interview, and (not surprisingly) he's had plenty to say. He started out by talking about how freaking lucky Hoyt Corkins has been, because he was pushing all in, all in, all in, and the very few times Hellmuth calls him with premium hands, Corkins has aces or something. He also pointd out that Corkins must have won 70-80% of their blind vs. blind situations. He said the general public won't even be able to comprehend how unlucky he got at this final table. Mike is a good-natured clown, with a good heart - that's why nearly everyone likes him. Phil is an egomaniacal clown who always seeks to blame outside forces for his misfortune. It's literally impossible for him to be gracious in defeat.

Luv2h8Phil_H 0
The only thing phil is a champion of is the "pro ego race". He wins by a long shot. His poker play is pretty good, but he can't keep his ignorant ass mouth shut long enough to actually want to root for him. How can he get any product endorsement deals or any fan following base with such a big mouth??? And it's not just a big mouth, because we all know mike has the biggest mouth of all....but hey...he isn't saying rediculous stupid crap everytime he says something. Example: "if it weren't for luck i would win them all".......jesus freakin christ people!!! gimme a break!~ Don't get me wrong, daniel has a big mouth....but everytime he opens it up he says something funny (keep up the good work danny). In closing, i'd just like to say....phil, if you read this by any long shot chance.... do you have a CLUE how stupid your mouth makes you look??? I have to stop now because i'm getting pissed off and about to puke.... phil try taking some lessons from the gentlemen of the game, Daniel, Doyle, T.J. and a host of others.... I mean would it really freakin kill you to tell an opponent "nice hand" after they make a bad call and get lucky to beat you in a hand? Time to grow up dude....... :!:
cemo76 0
MAn, I think you(last post) are obsessed with bashing Phil. I think he is actually more famous for his ranting and raving and that is why people love watching him. He is definately not the most mannered player but you are taking it overboard. Also you can not deny he is 1 of the best Tournament players in the world. Ps. He was unlucky on the final table but made an amazing call with K high. Amazing play.

I think it would be funny if the next time Phil won he did pelvic thrusts at his opponent and screamed, "in your face!" repeatedly. .. IMO. Seriously though, I think one of my favorite Phil moments ever is when he was shown gettting pissed in that live tourney as Daniel laughed his a$$ off because he had just busted Phil. Most guys just get quiet or ignore Phil when he complains, and here's Daniel: laughing like a man who just stole the cookies from the cookie jar.
Luv2h8Phil_H 0
yes sirs... you are correct. I did go overboard. and as you can tell by my nick...i do love to dislike the guy. He's like the "set up BAD guy" on TV wrestling....which if i watched it i could tell you who it was...LOL If i offended anyone.....please accept my apology....i tend to get a little carried away....hey, i'm from the backwoods....Tunica, MS...so sue me. cemo76 0
Hey "love to hate phil", you and alot others love to hate Phil. He is a character for sure and makes the game mor einteresting if you ask me. Don't apologize, it's a free Country and you can say whatever you want man. All I was saying was you have to admit even though he is a SUCK he is Pretty Good at Poker. ANyway, aren't he and Daniel friends. Wasn't he at the wedding? I wonder if he acts the same in his personal life??
Synaesthesia 0
Since when did interesting poker get determined by who can disgrace themselves the most because they lost? I see too much of this in my own poker league- don't really need to see a professional doing this as well. Yeah, next time a chair gets shoved into someone else by Phil, I'll remember that he's there to make it "interesting." It's unnecessary.
cemo76 0
You are wound up way to tight!! Interesting can go in so many directions. If you are a good poker player you would enjoy people like Phil; cause he goes on Tilt in a matter of Seconds. Secondly, There is no rules against talking. YOu can complain and bi_ch about the bad luck you are having till you are BLUE in the face. THe man is a Great Player, Just look at his record. Yes he is a Suck but he is allowed tyo be a Suck. THis is POKER, NOt Dinner in BUckingham Palace. MAnners are a definate PLUs but not MANDATORY!
Synaesthesia 0
I agree you can talk and complain all you want. But don't dare use that as a defense because it makes "Interesting Poker" For every bad loser who wants to whine, there's just as many who take their loss maturely. And they are just as good as Hellmuth.
Benny_21 0
I agree, Phil is one of the best to play the game.

byaaatch 0
at first phil irritated the crap out of me. but never have I ever thought he is a bad player. he makes lay downs when it seems impossible to lay something down. he just gets into peoples head so well it is scary. he and the mike the mouth are two people you just gotta watch the mouth to see when the blow up happens and phil just to see what he says or how many chairs he knocks over after he loses a hand
petersun 0
Glad Mike the Mouth won. He didn't blow up or cry when he went out on the main event. For that he gets another million dollars =)People like Mike more because he's often self-deprecating while Phil is just arrogant. Mike thinks luck is never on his side, but Phil thinks luck shouldn't apply for him.

lboarts 0
Let's be realistic.Hoyt Corkins is terible. I still remember his 100 million x bb pre-flop all-in against Jdags...when he was merely holding 8 high. Wow, what a donkey.First you say let's be realistic, then you go on to say Hoyt is terrible. Do you know why you remember his 8 high play? Because his "terrible" ass was on TV at a final table playing for more money than most posters on this site have ever seen. Do you actually think he wanted called with his 8 high? Come on, try to think about someone's play and ask yourself what he wanted his opponent to do before reacting like a newbie fish who only saw 8 high and can't see past the cards in front of you. While that play backfired on him, it took huge cajones, and I commend him for that. Hoyt's ultra-aggressive style is a misconception. He plays this way at final tables because the blinds and antes are significantly high enough that by collecting enough of them, without seeing flops, you can grow your stack substantially. PH's comments are proof of this, he just pounded him preflop knowing Phil prefers to see flops and outplay his opponent. Hoyt never gave him that chance...terrible.My final table play is very similar, but I don't play that way all the time, or I'd never see a final table, and I'd bet it's the same for Hoyt. He makes final tables in huge events on a regular basis. If that's terrible, then I'm striving to be terrible myself.
