Recommended Posts

Have 10 J in mid position.....guy after the blinds call I call....we are playing 2-5 NL and I ahve $400 in front of me.Small blind raises to 35....guy after blinds calls I call. Flop comes Q 10 9. Small blind checks, guy after blinds bets 30....I call. small blind calls. Turn comes a 10. Small blind checks...guy after blinds bets 40 ....i think...i just call worrying what small blind has. Small blind pushes all in for 250..other guy folds.....im sitting on open ended straight with trips....WOW talk about impossible to fold.So Of course I call.....small blind shows KJ. Hoping he had AQ, AA or KK. So river comes blank.Thinking back on this...I think I made the right call.....Any 10,Q,9,J,K would of helped me....hard hand to get away from right? Dont think i could play it any different....

your mistake was calling preflop.guess what? your J10 was dominated by KJ. and guess what? you lost the hand.i was playing a tournament sunday and raised in late position with Ad-10d after no limpers. only the BB called.the flop:Q-10-10 rainbow.i make a pot size bet. he calls, checks in the dark on the turn. 2d comes. i'm all in (reasonably short stacked to make this play). he calls with Q-10. i'm out.now that's a hand you can't get away from.(though, in reality, thinking back on the few words he said during the hand, i should have detected how excited he was and really thought about what he had before pushing. if he had pushed, i still probably would have called, expecting a chop, k-10, or even j-10. it was not outside the realm of possibility he had flopped a full house, but i was just too confident that he had not. i knew he didn't have QQ since he would have reraised preflop, and i figured he was holding K-10. my mistake; tough spot to be in.)

DEFINATELY not impossible to foldwhat hands are you behind right now?qq, 99, q10, 10-9, a-10, k-10, k-j, j-8a c/r after leading the flop is EXTREMELY strong. you could easily be drawing dead or close to dead.what hands do you think he has that he would play this way?aq= no, not only would he have led out more on the flop (since his hand is good, but still vulnerable to many draws), but he would not have c/r on the turn but rather lead out again or c/caa= same as aqkk= same as aqthe only possible hand i can see you beating is a bad 10 or a complete bluff. this is a tempting hand to play, but in the end, you're sitll putting in a lot of chips on a draw (and getting no odds to hit either)

Wow Dude....that was a seriously loose call, putting almost all of your chips at risk. Firstly, If I am dealt J-10 I only play it if Im in late position and I can get in cheap. I think your first mistake was playing these cards after a pre-flop raise of 7 times the big blind was placed. Secondly, after the flop you only had a pair of 10's with a J kicker. Now, a bet was placed by the initial raiser just over the size of the pot...Why would you make this call with marginal cards in your hand? Your only options at this point was to come over the top for 2 or 3 times his bet or fold. If you chose to make the raise and you were either called or re-raised you know you are beat. At that point you would have folded and only lost $150. Instead you chose to call....which is a sign of weakness to your opponants. Now, a card comes off on the turn that seems to have made your hand unbeatable in your mind. Your opponant pushes all in and you call hoping he has a high PP...This hand was a trap from the start. My opinion....Good luck and reconsider your options the next time you are dealt J-10.

Am I getting slammed by two different people?  I'm confused?
no. nobody is referring to you.they're all referring to the OP.
Some guy made a reference about "seeing you" reloading $18 a time at pokerroom and I play there, so I thought that was a slam on me. And his comment came by quoting something I said, so I dunno if it was about me. Man i'm tired.
