swoosh210 0
i am bored out of my mind at work right now and wanted to get some hands in. the only thing i'm concerned about is if i download it, i might get caught. our network is very small and there is no IT admin that monitors it everyday. if i do get caught, i would get into some serious trouble. we just log in using xp's login. nothing like novell. we have a company wide server and i'm pretty sure they can track what websites are being viewed by each login. i haven't got into trouble yet by browsing, but i think downloading a poker client and playing might cross the line. any ideas on my chances of getting caught or ways to make it look like nothing was downloaded? i know pokerroom has a web based option, but i'm not currently playing there. BigDawgBuuck 0
Don't try it. You will worry most of the time about being caught and that will take away the fun. Furthermore, they know more than you think. My brother wrote a program to disable Novel and saved it. Within the day, they found it.

srblan 0
If your company has an IT policy that forbids any kind of gambling activity (most do), don't do it. I've been an IT admin before, and it's not necessarily a day-to-day responsibility to find people that are breaking the rules, but every once in a while they will check. The fact that you are asking means that you have some inkling that it's not a good idea, good instinct, it's probably just going to get you into trouble.

swoosh210 0
our company does not have any IT policy in place. my buddy who works here has downloaded PP and played twice, but his dad is the VP of operations, so that might be why he never got any heat. i'm not going to do it, just wanted some input. thanks guys.
