anyone think dn complains too much?

Recommended Posts

I really liked DN when he first came into the poker spotlight, that is why i came to this site in fact, His blogs were very interesting and he seemed like a great guy. Lately however he is always bitching about something. For example,The tournament blind structure does not work well with his post flop play style , so he calls it a horrible structure. Just because it doesn't fit your style of play doesn't make it bad.The tournament room is too cold so DN could not play good... LOL come on put on a jacket? Most poker rooms are on the cool side. Maybe other players are always too hot but they don't complain. The TOC is lying to the players.... FREE PRIZE POOL.... The people who put on the FREE tourney wanted to get some more attention to the tourney so they added the 3 players with the most WSOP braclets ever. I can't believe someone could complain about this? Especially someone who is a pro player.. the reason you are able to get endorsment deals and the reason you get paid to play poker on TV is because of the way tourney directors make the public want to watch.LIKE ADDING 3 EXTRA BIG NAME PLAYERS TO A TOURNEY.Im sure all you guys will go off on this post.. but look at this with a little logic.

I will agree with this...It is their tournament, their FREE money so they can do what they want.

DN is right about everything he said. But he shouldn't act like he's the voice for other players. The other players may have no problem with adding three superstar players. Now given the fact that all of those three superstar players all made it to day 2, well that sucks for the rest of the "qualifiers".DN is probably complaining half as the voice of the lowly players and half because he was almost screwed out of last year's TOC, Harrah's screwed up the 2006 WSOP schedule and he didn't get a free pass into this TOC.

Guys, it's not that complicated to see why it is a weak move on ESPN's part. A number of players coughed up $10,000 to play in circuit tournaments under the impression that there were certain rules about who would play in the TOC...and those rules didn't include adding some of the best tourney players in the world.

I've got to agree with Daniel on this one. Where's Erik Siedel? He's got 7 bracelets...or Annie Duke, she won the TOC last year. Even if it is a Freeroll and it's free money. I would be pissed if I had qualified under the terms laid out, and then found out that those guys were playing as well. Why not say up front that Harrah's is allowed x number of added players....they didn't do that. They've done that after the fact.I also agree with Daniel, when he has addressed his "complaining". If you don't complain, nothing with change.

When you have millions of dollars you are allowed to complain about stuff. It's an unwritten rule. Plus, since you have so much money, people listen to you.
:club: No, if you read the rulebook carefully it clearly states, "When you have millions of dollars you are allowed to complain about stuff, since you have so much money, people listen to you." (p. 2 section A)Which is good, because i like stuff. Do you like stuff? Stuff is cool.

If i remember correctly you are on HIS forum...He has every right to complain as much as he wants, and since he is a poker player and it does affect him, then more power to him...When you get to the circuit events and put up 10k and are promised something, then you can talk... until then... just stay in the back...

I agree with alot of the comments....I think that the terms of a tourney should not be changed last minute...However, i highly doubt that any of the players putting up 10,000 dollars for these tourneys did it because of the chance of making the final 9 in the TOC after making the top 20 in the circuit.... And even if they did when any of them have decided to not play in the circuit event because they would have to play 112 players instead of 108I highly doubt it

and those rules didn't include adding some of the best tourney players in the worldSo why didn't they just not play in the TOC? They probably didn't play in the circuit event just to qualify for the tournament of champions...Even if they did, it would be stupid to assume that all amateurs would qualify...If they had a problem with three top tournament players being added, then don't play and take no shot at a FREE MILLION.Maybe it's just me...I don't know...but in my opinion getting a free shot at one million dollars out of only 120 or less players is a good deal even if there is a bunch of top players in that field. But that's me.

Harry D. has already said that the ToC was a major factor in convincing him to enter the circuit event in San Diego.Try again.
