greatwhite 0
Matusow and Hellmuth are the chip leaders. I know that it's way to early to tell, but what does everyone think of the heads up match? Although many people don't want to see Helmuth make the money, due to the way he got in, that would make great TV.
Vatche 0
i would love to see helmuth or matusow win it
mark33f 0
Although many people don't want to see Helmuth make the money, due to the way he got inI don't think it is fair to Phil to bash him (not that you really are) for playing in this. Though he didn't qualify, who is going to turn down a two million dollar freeroll because they didn't "technically qualify". It is a mishap by Harrah's management and if Doyle, Chan or Phil win/cash, nothing should be taken away from them. The heads up match would be hilarious t.v.!!Go Phil! greatwhite 0
Mark, I agree 100%. I wouldn't have a problem playing for a million bucks, even if I didn't qualify the right way.
Mikeh77 0
From what it says ESPN is going to heavily film the final 3 tables so hopefully even if Mike and Phil dont make the final table they can get them together on one table. It would be sweet for Phil to win for no other reason than to show this site (and Danny boy) that he is indeed "in the top 60 NL Holdem tourney players currently out there"...still cant beleive Daniel said that...Im going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he made a typo

mark33f 0
I agree...I don't think people would say that Daniel is out of the "Top 60, 50, 40 or whatever" after his WSOP or year for that matter nor is he.

greatwhite 0
According to Cardplayer Phil Hellmuth is in the top 1,847 players this year. He has exactly 104 points from him pot limit omaha final table at the WSOP where he flipped out when the other guy had the cooler. DN on the other hand is in the top 64 tournament players. blueodum 0
Yeah, I find that hard to believe..."I wasn't invited to the party but I wouldn't have gone even if I was..."So you are calling them liars?

greatwhite 0
I'm pretty sure Hellmuth is having a losing year in tournaments.
smokingfast420 0
With his career record I don't know how Hellmuth can fall out of the top 10 tournament players of all time. IMO he is in the top five.
Mikeh77 0
I'm pretty sure Hellmuth is having a losing year in tournaments. No one is saying hes lighting the world on fire this year...neither is Daniel, but Phil did have a decent World Series, and took a very prestigious win in the Heads Up tourney. Not to shabby.
NickG 0
Even counting his victory in the heads-up championship? I think he won more for that than one can spend on live tournament buy-in annually.
blueodum 0
Daniel doesn't play all the tournaments either. Most of the top pros pick and choose the tourneys they enter, otherwise they would burn out.
scottyno 0
I'm pretty sure Hellmuth is having a losing year in tournaments.hard to believe he could be having a losing year in tournaments when he won 500k for winning the NHUPC, as well as another 95k in this years wsop. IMO he is in the top five.Right...Its like a guy like Ali or Sugar Ray Leonard...they looked like sh-t near the end of their careers (Phil is by no means done as evidenced by his performance at the TOC) but they are still regarded as all time greats by what they did by their careers as a whole. Mikeh77 0
Theyre down to 21 players....Celeine Dions husband got the boot....awww.btw what the hell is he doing there...did he qualify?
mark33f 0
So you are calling them liars?I wouldn't say they were liars because that seems to harsh.Personally, I don't know them or can believe every word the say.Say Daniel was invited...Daniel has the "ethics" to not play when he didn't qualify this year yet last year he had the "ethics" to take someone else's spot in the TOC by "pulling some strings".I really don't know but who would turn down a two million dollar free roll when you were asked to play, especially considering the size of the field...It would really shock me, that's all I can say... blueodum 0
All I have to say, Mark, is that you apparently haven't met many people in your life that have a strong sense of right and wrong, and whose conscience would be bothered if they did something they considered immoral. To some, peace of mind is priceless.
