was river quadded 4x today...won't go through the stories to make a huge bad beat post but it was simply amazing...I literally had top trips or straight/flush, but after making it back each time after losing it...i just think about the guy with the trips who quadded me each time...are they supposed to fold those trips? Probably not. Was it unlucky as ****? yeah probably. Was I about to go nuts? Most definitely. One of the toughest parts of poker is to take those bad beats in stride. As much as I convince myself that I have it all under control, I definitely punched some walls after each beat. Anybody else have good ideas to control the rage?

To be honest, bad beats hardly bother me anymore. I guess playing for a min of 8 hrs per day for months on end will do that to you. The only thing that upsets me now is when I maek a poor play. Making a bad decision or a stupid play gets me on tilt, not a bad beat.I never thought I would be like this. Bad beats used to bother me to no end, but I can just shrug them off now.

you know why this is? bankroll management. im the same way, and have been ever since i started playing with a super-large roll relative to the stakes. the money shouldnt matter, its a way of keeping score.

I don't really play beyond my means. I lost them at 1/2 and 2/4 nl, where I could lose 10 buyins each without a sweat...but I just can't seem to shake the anger when I get bad beat. I tell myself that I can but I always start punching walls or yelling. Seriously, I'd like to know how some people get past that phase. Maybe even just stop for the day and watch tv or something? I haven't found the answer because I just continue playing even though I'm sure thats not the brightest idea when you're angry.

you know the answersluck will even outyou do not deserve to win a hand if even if you have a huge edge so dont be pissed if they win as an underdog in a hand because its going to happen roughly 20 percent of the time depending on the average edge you have when getting all in in nlyou know the answers too, you just cant remind yourself that this can be expected and you have to except things can run shitty when you play poker because its gamblingyou know all this you just need to remind yourself

How true is this, if you play long enough sooner or later your JJ will suck out on AA.However, calling when all your better instincts tell you to fold and then crippling yourself IMO is much more disturbing than getting your money in when your well ahead and happen to lose.I think this was a great post.
