Nugzy 0
I thought it was a bit unfair to pick out the top Tv players last year. This year seems a bit more fair, but I still dont like it. The TOC last year was great to watch because it was truly some of the top players. This year, the fact that some guy who placed 20th at some circuit event for the only cash of his life can get into this tournament, catch a run of cards, and win the Tournament of Champions. What do you think should decide entry into the TOC?
Orbit 0
Organizers pick half the field for TV value and anyone who finaltables a circuit event gets a spot.
Stylin_Fish 0
Why create a new thread about this?

What do you think should decide entry into the TOC?I think it should be done based on the WSOP POTY standings, this would include most of the top name pros, but would also include some amatuer players that made their way through deep fields and won a bracelet or made the final table of a big event. Nugzy 0
Because I want to discuss it, thats why. I saw threads about who would win, thats all. If there already a thread about this, well than piss off and go read that thread.

Im sorry, but you sir, are an ass-holeSo let's just have 50 threads about the same thing with each one being a little different. And I'm sure this specific topic had been discussed somewhere in the main TOC thread.
THE_ANDYAA 0
It should be decided like this:"Andy, here's 2 million bucks under the table cash. Enjoy!"

elkang 0
I don't care how it's done - but they need to be clear about it and stick to the rules. It is very disrespectful to not tell players about it (but tell others) and then change the rules on qualifications.I'm already seeing some problems for next year's. The verbally announced criteria were changed from one event to the next. Currently, only the winners of the circuit championship event are qualified. Also, because the next (2006) Tourn. of Champions is BEFORE the WSOP Main event, Joe Hachem has said he's getting into that one too. We'll see what happens. blueodum 0
It should be anyone who's won a bracelet in the last 5 years, or anyone who's won at least 3 lifetime, or at least one main event bracelet. No exceptions.Steve Dannenman doesn't belong in any tournament that has "Champions" in its name.

What was that thing the WWF used to have where a new random guy gets into the ring every minute or something? If they randomly changed the format to that after everyone qualified, then that would awsome television.
Rusty266 0
How should the field be determined? Thats easy. Who ever puts up the prize money, picks who they like to play in the event. Sounds fair to me.
