Guest
Hey Royal or anyone in the GTA...Whats the deal with the poker room at the Rama? Can you call you name in (in advance)? I got there and 6:30 and put my name on the list for the 2-5. They said the wait could be 2 hours. at 11:30 we were still waiting.Gotta grease these guys to get in at a respectable hour? Show up at 3, leave and get some dinner and come back? Damn...
Devilkin 0
I've been there a number of times, never had more than a 45 minute wait. Could be you came in at a time when a busfull of tourist came in (I lick my lips at the thought of all those juicy tourists. . .).Give it another try - shouldn't be that bad.Dev
Emmser 0
Yeah, the Rama poker room always seems to be packed. I don't know if they have changed their policy but they never used to let you call ahead. Which is pretty gay since I only live 30 minutes from the casino. I would rather wait at home if the wait is 2 hours than be at the casino losing money in Blackjack or something.I really wish they had a $1/2 No Limit table aswell.
gar 0
You probably showed up on a Friday night. Usually the wait isn't too long. On weekends, if you show up at 11:30 am, before the buses start rolling in, you'll get a seat or you'll have a short wait before they open a new table.
pokerfriendly 0
I will never play 2/5 limit holdem there again. i ve lost in 6 sessions there at that level, cant seem to make a win. I have won at the other levels 5/10 and 10/20 there a little more juicy. NO bluffing at the 2/5 level thats 4 sure just chasing and praying!? also the longest wait 3 hrs last time i was there :? :? Emmser 0
Yeah the $2/5 is a very hard game to win at there. Like you said there is no way to bluff people out of a pot. Most hands there are 5-7 people seeing the flop. You have to play super tight and just hope you don't get sucked out on by a calling station.
Guest
yeah, i was watching for a bit from the 'windows' and saw some horrific play at 2-5. No one... (NO ONE) raised preflop, I saw a woman play 3-6 UTG and she hung around until the turn with no pair and no draw.It was Saturday night that I was there.. 6 hours and still no seat. I couldn't believe it. I didn't even get to play.

The_Mit 0
I play at Rama all the time, There is money too be made at the $2/5 you just have to play straight up and raise and jam the pot with the big hands, as you will get alot of chasers throwing good money after bad......you will have players suckout on you a few times but if you play solid and tight you can make some money. As for no limit at rama it is coming ,I have asked a few times and they say it will be a regular game soon.Bluffing is not I good idea in low limit poker........the bluff works alot better in No limit JUST REMEMBER WAIT FOR THE MONSTERS THAN MAKE THEM PAY...!

I find live poker so slow now! I usually 3-4 table online now so sitting at one table live is boring to me now. I played for 5 hours the other day and I was almost falling asleep. As much as I love the sound of real chips and the atmosphere of a live game I think I will stick to online for now and the odd live tourny with friends.
Emmser 0
While we are on the topic of Casino Rama. I thought I would give you some info on Satellites they are currently running for the Fall Classic. I posted this before but it got moved to Card Rooms which no one reads. So here is the info again:For anyone living in the GTA area, just thought I would let everyone know Casino Rama is holding $100+10 Satellites into their $100,000 Fall Classic which is in Dec. Satellites run daily as soon as there are 11 people registered. 1st place pays $700 entry into Fall Classic +$90, 2nd pays $200 and 3rd pays $100. The crappy part is the you only get $800 in starting chips, blinds start at $25/$50 and double every 15 min!! 15 min live is only about 5-6 hands! so they probably become all in fests. But I am sure there are tons of tourists/donks entering them.Just thought I would let everyone know. I might give them a try.
The_Mit 0
The game is a little slow at times at rama but it is all in the dealer, there are a few good dealers that keep control of the game....but there are a couple that talk more than the players.....i would not mind the dealers talking if they keep the game moving but I hate when there own chatter distracts them from keeping the game moving and causes them to make mistakes.Poker online is alright, quick.....but the flops seem a little off to me, I play alot of poker and a never see so many players catch a pc of the flop like I do on the Net.Makes me play less online as I have a trust issue with the flops...maybe its just me? The_Mit 0
Very true you do see alot more hands, I also think a few to many player's find it to easy to hang around online with the worst outs, which helps the better player over the long haul but it 's just a little over the top for me.I also enjoy the live contact with the other player's, Just my pref.have a good one all and make sure to drag down your fair share of pots.online or B&M
