I felt like I had to call him on the river but I was not willing to c/r because there is no surer sign of strength from a LAG than a check. Is anybody folding this?
SevenTwoOff 0
In my opinion, the worst thing you can do against a LAG is flat call, you gotta be in there raising or folding. You started off with control of this hand and gave it away when the flop didn't head you. Your decision on the river is tough, there is definately a chance you have the best hand due to him overbetting his position. But the fact is, you put yourself into this position. I .5 to .75 pot bet the flop(standard continuation)...odds are the flop didn't hit his hand (1 outta 3 times it will roughly). If you make a half pot size bet, you just need to win the pot right there 1 outta 3 times for the bet to break even in the long run in terms of EV. (In my experience, the bet works more than half the time) Keep control against LAG's. If he calls your flop bet, reevaluate the turn. Most likely be done with the hand unless you improve. Newbie here, anyone care to criticize me please? Thanks72o
gobears 0
If the villain knows that you know he is an uber-LAG, then this one is tough. You didn't fire a continuation bet on the flop as you know that he is likely to come back with a raise but he checks behind instead of betting (trapping or he's afraid that you're trapping). On the turn, he starts to value bet so I think that the flop hit him somehow. I can see calling as you have an OESD although it's the idiot end along with a draw to your A.On the river, I would fold - I don't really like his check on the flop if he's an uber LAG.
