Not the worst beat in the history of mankind....but i went and checked the odds. I was 98.1% fav after the flop, and still 90.1% fav after the turn. Losing with 98% the best of it is pretty dam strong don't ya think.

Something like a set of aces losing to backdoor quads, on the other hand, is note worthy. The probability of that is roughly one in 1000. Flopped quads losing to a backdoor straight flush is roughly the same, though in some situations slightly more probable.

How is this for a bad beat. Dealt pocket aces (red aces). Raise it 3x the Big blind, to 3000 dollars. next player pushes all in for 1,000,000. I instantly call, he flips Ks Qs. Flop comes As Ac 9h. Turn is the 8c. HAHAHAH, that mofo is drawing dead. River comes the Ace of hearts. GOD DAMNIT, MISDEAL!!!!!! THE HAND IS DECLARED DEAD!!!!ALL MONEY IS RETURNED TO EACH PLAYER!! I COULD HAVE RETIRED ON THAT POT!!!! BEFORE EVEN ENTERING THE WORK FORCE!!!! WHAT KIND OF SCHMUCK DEALER DEALS WITH A DECK WITH FIVE ACES, DON'T THEY CHECK THESE THINGS!! JESUS. As much as I hesitate to respond to your 666th post. I don't really HATE them that much. Just like sarcasm. The reason I probably went off like that at the end was probably due to the fact that I quit smoking yesterday. I do enjoy that this post has inspired people with REAL bad beat stories to come out of the woodwork.Just bored, at work, on (unusually) a rainy day in Vegas.

That's cool. I didn't mean to flame you or anything. I find those "bad beat" posts as annoying as anybody else. It's raining here in SoCal and I love it. It doesn't rain here enough, and it's so funny to watch everybody freak out when it does. There are like a brazilian accidents when it rains here. We have the worst drivers in the world. SoCal is a jopke.

I know what you mean. I went out to eat with a couple co-workers (born in warm weather) who thought the roads "were so slippery and dangerous". Try growing up in Michigan or Chicago and then you can talk about poor road conditions.

LOL.. Well thanks for your input. I don't normally post my beats, well actually NEVER...as I said in my original post. I just posted it cuz I saw this thread, and it had just happened to me within the previous hour. I'm so terribly sorry, I didn't realize my criteria for posting was based on if YOU cared or not. How very fucking silly of me. I lost with quad aces on the river to a royal flush once (true story). Does that count as something YOU WOULD CARE ABOUT?

Danny had bluffed off a bunch of chips, then got snapped off by Hansen a couple hands earlier, and was now in bad shape. After a flop of K-5-5 rainbow, with one diamond, he was even worse than that, needing running diamonds or an even wilder miracle. Down came 7c on the turn, and Danny, a 330-to-1 shot, now dead to running 7’s, did just that, spiking the 7s on the river. This also made him quads for the second time in an hour, and turned him into the monster at the table while crippling Shandor. In the very next hand, Danny, with 6d-5d, went all-in against Shandor’s 9c-8s and his last 135,000, and befitting a night of uncanny luck, Danny again drew out, making two pairs when the board ran out As-Jd-6c, 5s, 2s. Shandor, the next in shell-shocked victim of the Bay Area Bombardier, went out in 4th place, with $280,000.
