the worst beat i have ever taken

Recommended Posts

Here is the background: 20-40 at Commerce Casino. The hero is in the BB and the action folds to the button who raises. Hero has 10-10 and reraises; the button three bets, and hero caps the action. The flop comes 10-10-J. Hero has flopped QUADS!!!! He checks his hand and the button bets; Hero smooth calls. The turn cards is J. Hero checks, button bets, hero raises, button re-raises, and this continues 6 times since it is heads-up... button stop raising. The river is a J. Holy shit!!!! Hero bets and BB raises..... Hero just calls, he can't possibly have quad Jacks. Hero turns over quad 10's, button turns over A-J for quad Jacks!!! Are you flipping kidding me.... I wish I was playing in the 15-30 game where they have a jackpot. That hand would have qualified for the $100,000 super jackpot with $60,000 going to yours truly. I know everyone hates hearing about bad beats, but I have never seen anything like that before.

FYI.... I have been a member for over a year, but forgot my user name... so I just created a new profile. I guess this forum has gotten a lot less cordile since I have been here. Sorry if I wanted to vent about losing a 800 dollar heads up pot when I flop quad 10's. It's better than going on tilt and losing the remaining stack :club:

dont pay attention to the replies OP, most of these ppl dont have a bankroll for 20/40 nor could handle the action. If it was headsup, how come u didn't opt to go all in on the turn with all those raises?well, considering you were a 99.9% favorite on the flop, and a 98% favorite on the turn, sounds like a pretty bad beat to me.and yes, that REALLY sucks u were playing 20/40 instead of 15/30.. that would have been the happiest bad beat of ur poker career heh.oh well, gl in the future.

I got hit in the head with a two by four once. That is a way worse beat than yours...so stop whining. Just put 800 bucks on one hand of Party Poker blackjack. You win, boom, money's back. You lose, oh well, just put 1600 hundred out there. You are bound to eventually win a hand.Pure genius. I expect a 25% cut of the profits.

Its just that people appreciate when these kind of threads are started in the appropriate section. Having been around for such a long time I'm sure you understand that.

No one appreciates a bad beat story. I want to kick my own ass when I start to tell one.

That's odd, because I want to kick your ass when I tell one as well. :-)

It's limit poker and the Button stops the raising on the turn. If you can find a way to go all in there, you're good.

if thats really the worst bad beat you've ever taken then you probably haven't been playing very long, he has a 4.4% chance to win after the flop, or about 23-1, I've seen and taken much worse beats

I don't know what you mean by "after the flop." If you mean on the flop, you are extremely wrong. His opponent is less than 0.1% to win on flop. If you mean on the turn, you are only fairly wrong. His opponent is 2.3% to win on the turn.

Merely explaining to him why he was beginning to receive negative feedback towards his thread.Your outburst was uncalled for and ridicuously inept.
