Alright so i took a break from poker for a while because i really wasnt doing that well. I wasnt really playing that well in the first place and would go on tilt bad after some of the hands i saw at 2/4 . i put some more money on pp last friday and since playing higher limits i have made over 3400 dollars in just about a week and a half. I have been playing everything from 5/10 to 20/40 and have been doing really well. I found that i do way better at short handed tables because of my agressiveness. There are just too many people at 2/4 who are in there with anything imaginable that you cant put them on a hand. I know you want these clowns calling you with these less than marignal hands but i know when 80 percent of the people see the flop big hands arent going to hold up. nyway i just wanted to share my happiness with everyone. I finnaly got that feeling when i first started playing poker again this week.

Looks to me like your moving up in limits is pretty aggressive as well. Good Luck.

yeah i know i am playing above my limits but i am playin with only winnings and if i go broke i will just start over again
"If I go broke . . ." That's a terrible mindset for a poker player to have. You should constantly tell yourself that you won't go broke. Yes, going broke happens to the best of us. But you know how you stay away from going broke? Play within your limits.

i have the money i started as my bankroll in the bank right now and my winnings on the site. I am trying to play good poker and win enough so i can hopefully take a trip to vegas next june and play a prelim wsop tournament. If i dont get to that goal i still have my original bankroll in the bank.

Good Job on the 3400 but it was probably do to luck the same way your bad run at 2-4 was probably do to bad luck. Take the money out and buy your wife something nice or drop back down to 2-4 because your logic is all backwards. "Can't beat the 2-4 so I will jump up to 20-40" I have heard lots of people use this type of logic and every single one of them has gone broke. Seriously every single one of them. Not saying this to be a dick, just wanted you to know that you will lose that money given enough time at 20-40.

This reminds me of the fact that I'm beating 2/4 but for the line of me cannot post a winning record at 0.5/1, which I only play when clearing a reload bonus. With all the months of bonuses combined I probably have close to 20k hands, but I think I'm a breakeven player at best at that level.

1st of all, congratulations on your winnings. do you think that taking a break has helped you clear your mind and play better recently?2nd of all, you dont have to be like everyone else in this forum and always play in limits that your bankroll permit you too. I don't know about the rest of you, but trying to grind it out everyday making barely minimum wage at the small stakes tables is getting oldIf I went on a hot streak...I would say screw it, and jump limits too!and only stop whenl I started losing again. I'd milk it for every F*ing penny it's worth. Obviously this is what you have done and now your sitting on $3,400....NICE

I'll take a stab at this...Ones that aren't broke? Ones that don't have to peddle their ass for money? Ones that don't post messages on this forum that are guaranteed to make them seem retarded? Ones that don't run into burning buildings with gasoline overcoats?Any of these ringing a bell?Brother, it's your money, of course, so spend it like you want to. I'm not the bankroll police. But coming on this particular forum and posting about how you are flouting bankroll guidelines to a degree that my 11 year old daughter wouldn't be guilty of if she were playing poker with me with Monopoly money is just moronic. You need to prepare to be everyone's Maytag here. Grease up now.

"If" you go broke? The question is when will you go broke? Im for within the month. The way you reason when referring to your decision as well as why u dont win makes it painfully obvious how bad you must actually be. I wont get into why your reasoning is stupid because its redundant and obvious to anyone who knows the first thing about poker. WHen you start over, what limit do u plan to play?

alright, how about this:you have $3400 (or more accurately, had $3400). you have the opportunity to take that out of your account and put it in your figurative pocket. it is nothing other than stupid to think that this money is any different, just because it was won, as opposed to gotten in any other way. its the same. if you lose it, you should feel just as shitty as if you'd been mugged or lost $3400 in some other manner.take some of those profits out and keep them aside. do something fun with them or just put it away for the future. because it is a mathematical certainty that if you keep playing 10/20 and 20/40 and can't beat a 2/4 game, you will go broke. and won't you feel like shit when your account reads $0.00 and you just had $3400.good luck, daniel
