DanielNegreanu 141
It was a bitter sweet day in Las Vegas today for Cheap Thieves owner Daniel Negreanu as he pulled the trigger on a deal that will see the last remaining original Cheap Thief, captain Radek Bonk go to the Greaseballs in return for Ruslan Fedetenko. Bonk was originally picked up on waivers by the Thieves as an 18 year old and has won two championships with the team, "I have no regrets," said Bonk, "The team has always treated me well and that's just part of the game." Bonk became expendable when both he and Alexei Kovalev were traded to Montreal in 2003-04. Kovalev too, has been with the team for quite some time seemed to have more upside than Bonk did with his new role as checking line center with Montreal. Bonk 29, had two years left on a contract that would pay him 0.75, and Fedetenko 26, has been signed long term for .50 for five years. "I had to move Fedetenko since I was already committed to Prospal," said Greaseballs owner Brian Stienberg, "I couldn't keep both players so picking up a consisten player like Bonk made sense for our team." There was talk of the Thieves trying to move Kovalev for Zdeno Chara, but those talks fizzled when the teams couldn't get come to terms on a deal. Negreanu is still looking for an elite defenceman, but feels like this deal will help the Thieves not only this season, but long term as well.

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Interesting trade. I like Fedotenko's upside, I think he is playing with 2 great fwds in Lecav+Prospal. Id also agree with the Bonk as 3rd line C part as a problem for him. I guess having 2 players on the same team is not agood thing in your pool, so your trading partner felt the need to move Fedo. wonder what Serge got for his D?????????
