risking it on the bubble ... ?

Recommended Posts

This hand is from 27 person SnG, 5 places pay and there are 6 people left. The short stack goes all in and the cutoff calls. I call on the button with AQ of diamonds. In hindsight, I probably should have raised here but....BB pushes all in over the top of both us (!!) leaving me at a decision for all my chips. If he took both of us out, I still finish in the money but for some reason I felt he was representing a monster (QQ, KK or AA ... maybe even AK) with his bet and seemed like he was looking for a call. After some thought I decide to save my chips and find a better spot. They flip the cards and BB had JJ against an underpair which puts me in a coinflip which is what i was hoping for if I called - which I didnt.Long story short- wouldve caught nut flush on the turn, but do you think it was worth risking it here? Was this a terrible fold???PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (6 handed) BB (t8135)UTG (t16107)MP (t1140)CO (t6225)Hero (t6650)SB (t2243)Preflop: Hero is Button with A:diamond:, Q:diamond:. 1 fold, CO folds, Hero folds.Flop: (t11555) K:heart:, 4:diamond:, K:diamond: (2 players)Turn: (t11555) 3:diamond: (2 players)River: (t11555) T:club: (2 players)Final Pot: t11555Main Pot: t3470 (t3470), won by BB.Pot 2: t8085 (t8085), between BB and MP.

I would have folded this also - BB either is holding a monster or he is trying to get HU against the SS and is trying to pick up some extra chips along the way.Your chip stack is still healthy if you fold - no need to find out that he's got AA-QQ or AK.
