If smash is invited, I'll come. I want to instigate a religious debate between Smash and someone and watch him dissect them. For me, thats my Smash highlight of the forum.

I don't post all of the time but i read them every day. I would definitely be into playing a tourny or just some sides games in the Boston area. I go to Bentley College and would just need directions as this is my first year in Boston.

You really shouldn't be posting on a Boston thread. Do you see why?

I don't get it, are you making fun of me, or saying that you wouldn't mind me in home games regardless of my age.Did I just get flamed here?

White sox vs red sox... white wins!!Better pitching (starting - bullpen - closer)All the white sox have to do is keep the bases clear when Ortiz and Manny come up to the plate. They can have their homers... as long as they are solo shots and the white sox win 5-2.besides... it is the white sox turn.

Just because the Red Sox are obviously weaker than last years team... I wouldn't necessarily count them out. However the bullpen is shaky. And that is being kind.

I agree that Chicagos pitching is deeper than ours, however.....I do recall that before last year, no team had ever come back down 3-0 and won........I now feel like anythings possible........ :-)

Because I'm a Yankees fan?

Outstanding. I knew you were good people. Me too. Growing up in NY will do that to you. Although now I can probably forget about being invited to the Boston game...

F Boston sports fans.I was born in NY. Always loved the Yanks, from Reggie in '77 (I was 5, but still remember the three homer game) and Donny Ballgame.

wow - impressive that you remember that. I think my oldest Yankee memory is Dave Righetti's no-no vs. the Sox in '83. I was 8. And of course, Don Mattingly was a huge part of my childhood...As a matter of fact, I have a container of Yankee Stadium warning track gravel on my desk right now. It's not weird, I was raised Catholic - we're into relics and stuff...

Don't be so sure. It's plenty weird. When the Yanks finally made it back to the Series in '96, Me and a buddy flew up for games 1 and 2. If you remember though, rain pushed back game 1 (12-2 Braves, Andrew Jones 2 hr) so we couldn't stay for game 2. We sold our tickets for game 2 for $200 apiece and paid for the airfare. Nice.

capital grill is pretty great steak house, Mortons caliber.  I am down for a game sometime I live in Somerville.  PM details
I also have to put a vote in for Capital Grill. Great place, fantastic wine list, and steaks are fantastic.I'd pass on the Hilltop unless you are looking for more of a family place with mediocre steaks. The hint that it's no Mortons is the "Plastic cows"...BTW, seeing that you are from Chicago, I hope you already have your tickets for the game. Scalping is illegal in Boston and they are coming down hard on them during playoffs and WS games. Also the prices are steep cause Fenway is smaller than Wrigley...

its not illegal anymore if you sell the tickets for face value or less, they changed that rule, but in this case you won't find anyone willing to sell their tickets for that cheap

And chances of that happening at a Red Sox playoff game is slim to none (leaning more to the none)...

I agree, it isnt going to happen, was just pointing out that scalping tickets in boston is now legal (any scalping period used to be illegal) if the tickets are sold for face value or less.even though its illegal you will still find plenty of people outside of fenway selling tickets if you have the money to afford what they're charging

If anyone is going to hijack this thread, it will be me... the OP... and it will be for one of two reasons...1) To discuss how the Red Sox will overcome their bullpen woes and spank the White Sox.2) For shameless plugs to promote my line of delicious beverages.Oh yeah, or 3) To actually set up the game.
