mrdannyg 274
im sure this should go in strategy, so if anyone actually reads that, i'm happy to have it moved. otherwise:ok i hear that omaha 8/b PL is relatively easy, so i planned to just sit back and wait for the nuts. i decide to sit down at hi/lo, which i realize is less profitable, but i wasn't feeling all that patient and figured i'd be able to play more hands at hi/lo.well i didn't have to worry, because here's my first hand in the big blind:Dealt to mrdannyg [ Kd Ah Kh 9c ]VJT123 calls [$0.25].Rendezvous calls [$0.25].allin72 folds.BustmeaQweer folds.spectrabyp folds.HJPlayer calls [$0.25].bjp17 calls [$0.25].plzdnthurtme folds.pokR2nite calls [$0.15].mrdannyg checks.** Dealing Flop ** [ 8d, Ks, 2c ]pokR2nite checks.mrdannyg bets [$1.45].Top set, but 2 low cards. flop is one of those quirky ones that no one can possibly have a straight draw, and its a rainbow. ding ding. easy bet the pot here so my turn bet is big enough people will throw away low draws. only question...with this many people it, do i check-raise - the table looked regularly loose, but it was my first hand so i wasn't sure how likely it was a bet was coming. then again, if ever giving a free card didn't suck ass, it doesn't suck here (though it still does). VJT123 folds.Rendezvous folds.HJPlayer calls [$1.45].bjp17 folds.pokR2nite calls [$1.45].** Dealing Turn ** [ Kc ]pokR2nite checks.mrdannyg ....ok the bet last round was easy, though a check-raise was a possibility. how much do i bet here? sure i don't want to chop it with a low, but do i just bet the pot and hope for a call? seems like you'd have to be even donkier than average to call that without 22 or
PotDragon 0
Bet the pot with the quads. Make the low draw pay to get there. Many times you will pick up two callers both playing nut low draw.Quickly lose the habit of slow playing in Omaha.

mrdannyg 274
thanks guys.i wouldn't slow-play for the sake of it, just to make it even more expensive with a check-raise and hopefully get people all in on their draws. i figured i might as well bet the pot and hope for either two callers, or a non-low making river. no one called, so i took it down.thanks!danielp.s. is there ANY time you should slowplay in omaha? i really can't think of any except maybe checking early with the intention of check-raising and kicking out most draws. Kendren 1
Only slow play if you're 173% sure someone behind you is going to bet, and you have the uncounterfeitable nuts.
