I can get you some games in Orlando, since I live here...As far as dogtrack/casino games go... I don't really play them too much. Max game you can play is $2/2. Hardrock is about 2 hours away from Orlando (it's just outside of Tampa).
yeah, hard rock is about 2 hours away from disney....if you walk.
Well maybe an hour and a half... I was thinking how long it takes me to get from my parents home up to my place in orlando, which is two hours. The time from when I pass hardrock to downtown Orlando is about an hour and a halfThat's if you get extremely lucky and don't hit dead stop traffic. But on I4 you usually hit some pretty bad traffic
you do realize that disney is quite far from downtown orlando, right? disney is around exit 68ish on I4, hard rock is exit 6. 62ish miles. if that takes an hour and a half, maybe you need an oil change or need to have your dead grandmother take shotgun and give you the keys.

Yes I realize how far downtown is from disneybut you seem to be in a little fantasy world where there's no traffic... ever actually been on I4? traffic there sucks. There's always some point where you have to come to a dead stop or close to it for 15-30 minutesI drive from Orlando to Tampa and back usually every other week, I know how long it takes

  • 2 weeks later...

I can't believe no one mentioned Sun Cruz Casino. They have $5/$10 and $10/$20 and a NL game. I played in a tournament there today. $115 to get in $100 to the pool, $15 to the house which is much better than the dog tracks. Unfortunately, I got to the final table but I was first one outonce I got there. I was second to act, short stacked, had pocket jacks, guy next to me had pocket aces. Oh well. Anyway, I love the boat. I am asuming Chao you are by UCF. I am surprised that you do not play on the boat since it doesn't take long to get there once you get on 528. My problem is that it can take me 45 or longer to get to 528. There are some house games with much lower buy ins then the 2 games that Chao mentioned. I play on Fridays in a house tournament. we have 20-30 players, $24 buyin, unlimited rebuys for the first hour and 1 add on during the hour break. A cash game starts as soon as we condense down a table. Chao... do they play with a "rock" at the games you mentioned? If so, I know of those games. I know many of the people who play in those games. Too rich for me. I hear those games can get quite out of hand. Oh and Choa... welcome to O-Town.

Oh, and Pupsta... Choa is right on the time frame. It takes FOREVER to get from downtown Orlando out to the Disney area and a bit beyond Disney. Its pretty smooth once you pass 27. It's not distance... it is traffic and stop lights that make getting around Orlando almost impossible at times. I hate I-4 as well.

Looks like I will be in Orlando on Monday and Tuesday the 24th and 25th of October to do a presentation. Is there any place to play Poker in the area? I will be staying near Disney World. Thanks!
Disney is near 528. Should take you less than an hour to get out to the Cape. Tuesday night the Sun Cruz has a $65 beginners tournament. A friend of mine played it a few weeks ago and he won. Prize was $1400.

hey theresa haven't talked to you in a long time lol.The homegames I was talking about do use rocks. What's the age limit for the suncruz? (I'm 19) And which are you talking about? St pete has a suncruz and I used to live about 3 min away from where it docked, and it was never open. It was always closed for repairs or something. It was 18+ to play on that one. I heard there was an eastcoast suncruz but don't know where it goes out of or if the age is the same

Chao...Looks like you are in luck. 18 to sail, 21 to consume alcohol.http://suncruzcasino.com/document_display....m?document_id=5Its at Cape Canaveral. Take the 417 to 528. It will cost you about $3 bucks in tolls but once you get to 528 it is a quick jaunt. Its a decent size ship. It is also slow season right now. They are trying to do a WSOP thing where you can win a seat for 2006. Unfortunately, I do not know the details.I think there is also a cap on the rake of cash games, but don't quote me on that. I just think that the $115 tournament is a good deal. The dealers are cool and it is a nice environment. Smokers can not smoke at the table, they have to go to the sides by the slot machines. I heard yesterday that they plan on making the whole poker room smoke free soon. I plan on playing the $65 tournament tomorrow night. Oh... many nights they have a high hand pay out. First time I went on, I won $500 with my king high straight flush.

i'm talking strict distance on I4, since i didn't know where in the disney area he's coming from, and to be quite honest, i've never had a problem with I4 traffic unless there's construction that actually has lanes closed, and i make that drive all the time. (once i get into orlando, it's another story, but the stretch from disney to hard rock is cake)

you mean like the never ending construction that's been going on for about 10 years? :club: ... I guess if you were on I4 by yourself with no traffic and driving from hardrock to disney... you could do it in one or one and a half hours... in perfect conditionswho drives to disney though? orlando is like another 15-25 minutes away from disney. disney sucks, go to universal

I went to the Hard Rock on Tuesday night. From Altamonte, it took me 2 hours to get there. I left the house at 5:10 PM.I left the Hard Rock at 3:00 AM. Got to the downtown area of Orlando around 4:10 AM and home at 4:25 AM. This was with absolutely no traffic and driving around 75-78 MPH when I could. Unfortunately, there is several areas of construction which slows you down. I played the multi $240 tournament. I think there was about 120 players. I started off well then I hit a terrible cold streak. It was absolutely awful. I ended the show in 21st place. :club: The good news is that I felt pretty at home. I played a good solid game. While short stacked, I went all in with pocket jacks. I was in 8th position. The guy who was UTG had already raised the pot to 1200 (blinds were at 300/600). I had about 4k in chips. I stared at the table, made no sign of weakness. The UTG guy folded and flipped up his pocket queens. I showed my jacks. This hand had a lot of talking at the table. The UTG guy talked to me during break. He said I was a very intimading player (though he could tell I was a nice person.) Me? Intimidating? Heard it before but I think it is so funny since I do not feel like I am. Gosh, I really wished I made it to the final table but I kept getting 9 5 off suit and a whole bunch of other crappy. So, I then went and played Omaha 8. Was up about 60 bucks the first hour or so. I should have left then. But no, I played until 3 AM and lost my stack (bought in for $100). Next time I go out, I have to get a room. I played when I was tired just because I wanted to make the drive worth it. What a mistake since I lost more than I should have. I also want to plan it instead of spur of the moment so I can get some friends to go out with me. I still think I like the boat better. But I did have a good time at the Hard Rock.
