Has anyone ever had a dealer that would constantly hurry players into making their decisions? There are a few dealers at my local casino who are constantly giving the heads up every time its on someone to make a decision. They stare at the player like the cards are stuck to his forehead or something. Now I understand the difference between the dealer running a tight game and trying to hurry it but sometimes I think they try to hurry it way to much? Is this common at casinos around the country because I've only been to the one closest to my house. It drives me crazy when after like 5 seconds the dealer looks as though they are getting impatient.

If it's a limit game i actually prefer to have the dealer hurry players. With tv poker nowdays a lot of players "Hollywood" and just take too much time in general. i'm trying to maximize my hands, and i don't need some jackasss acting it up cause, "that's what they do on tv" in seat 5. that is all.

Speak to the cardroom manager. This is not standard. If the dealer suspects you might not realize its your turn, then he should prompt you to keep the game moving. But if it is clear you are just thinking, and taking a reasonable amount of time, he should stop prompting you after you ask him to stop. And don't tip him.

ya,, this happens all the time. They dont realise you are just thinking and they say "sir, check or bet?", so i usually look at the dealer once its on me, and ask "how many in the hand?". while they double check and realise you understand its your turn, you now have al the time in the world

I'm with Royal on this.At most of the low-mid limit games, there will be a number of players that either aren't paying attention or don't know it's their turn. The dealer has to keep things moving by keeping his eye on the game. 1. It shouldn't take you more than the 5 seconds you were talking about to make a decision2. If it does, just say, "time", and the dealer will back off for a minute.

Here locally I find it's the ones who want to make more money (Tips) per hour.I know which ones they are and they keep the game moving pretty fast. There are a lot of tight wad 18-22 who don't tip much when taking down pots so the more hands they deal out the more possible tips they will receive.
