The other guy calls.Turn: Jh, DN bets 2800 and is called.River 9, Daniel leads off with 3600 and is called again. 8 am pacific start time in this tourney brutal, must be plenty of coffee flowing in that room.
but since it is on the East Coast...
He was commenting how many of the players would be used to the pacific time zone coinciding with the superfluous amount of casinos on the west coast.

WOW...talk about a bad read.....Could it have been AK paranoia?I think so.....About 90% of the KK pre-flop folds are due to paranoia of getting outdrawn....I have folded KK ONCE in my life preflop and it was in a situation just like this..(smaller stakes tourney of course)....and I felt like an idiot when the guy showed AKs......

It doesnt say Daniel ever showed his KK, maybe he just said that and folded something like 10 10.

Me and Pogue were playing in a cash game on FT last night, and he folded KK to me preflop. I had AA though so it was a good fold. I was pissed, lol. Should have slowed down and seen a flop.

I believe when Daniel looks back at things he will truly wonder what he was thinking. I am a huge fan and love his attitude toward things, but this is not him. You don't win tournaments worrying about another player having AA when you have KK. It is something you just can't do. If it happens, it is unfortunate. He must remember that this person sees DN across the table and realizes he could any number of hands at this point. You when many more chips and tournaments by playing KK all the way than you will ever lose. This is my first post and I have been an observer for a long time. I just felt that this time I wanted to see what everyone thought about that.

VT, i disagree. think about it. he reraises preflop, then rerereraises the rereraiser. maybe 90 percent of the time he has aces, and then maybe he has queens. if he has queens, he sucks, and he will go away soon.i mean, even if he DOESN'T have aces, its pretty obvious that he has aces based on that betting. QQ played that hand really crazy. and he had like 10k left. its not like he crippled himself. i'd be more curious about the hands that got him down into the red zone. stupid hypocrites, telling mike matusow that he could have easily waited for a better spot at the WSOP final table when he ran into aces with his kings, and now criticizing DN for folding KK when any remotely sane player has aces (or better) there. i swear to god if you quote that saying "ACES ARE THE NUTS PREFLOP, BETTER?" i will personally come over to your house and rectally penetrate you with an icepick.during this downswing, daniel really hasn't played bad. he has made some decisions that would oftentimes be just fine, its a matter of zigging when you should have zagged. jesus christ people. there are like 800 players in these tournaments, sometimes more. stop expecting him to cash in every one. the worst play he has made in these down months is the K4 and 63o plays, and he respectably defended his thought process there. so shut the fuck up and get off his back everyone.

How will Daniel will ever get back to the form he was in in 2004? He just doesn't dedicate enough of his time to playing poker. He is so heavily envolved with the business aspect that he doesn't "practice" enough. Tom Brady, despite all he has done in the past, would suck it up on Sunday if he didn't go over his plays, go study film, throw routes to his recievers to work on timing, ect. Do you see what I am getting at? Make no mistake they (Daniel and Tom Brady) are great players, if not the best, but you got to be sharp. Playing one tournament every month is not staying sharp. The difference between Daniel and people like John Phan, The Grinder, Scott Fischman, Phil Ivey, is that they play poker. Daniel just benefits (probally more then anyone) from it. You will have a tough time convincing me we will see him at a final table until he starts playing poker again. Honestly, he needs to play online more. Sorry thats just my 2 cents.

load of crap. this isn't a cash game, it's a tourney with 550 entrants. if you want to have any chance of winning you damn well better be calling with KK in that spot.

Okay, first, shut up, noone expects him to cash every time, but seriously, anyone can see, he is not playing well now at all. Second, please tell me how a person can have better than a pair of Aces preflop.

Excellent post, I have been saying essentially the same thing for a while now. However, everybody has been calling me a douchebag for it, so we'll see how people respond to this. I agree 100000 percent.

Maybe he's so "worried" about finishing good that he unknowingly(or knowingly) is changing the way he would normally play hands? He even said in the quote "I really want to win." I know we all want to win but maybe that is weighing on his conscious instead of just playing cards?Look at me, trying to give pointers to a guy who would slaughter me anyday in poker.
