Chiggleslap 0
This is worth the read... make sure you read it all...So, the last month or so, I've taken a bit of a hiatus from poker while I'm working a lot of 50 hour weeks in my "other" job. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't play poker if I've worked a full day or if I'm tired in general. Today is another one of those days. I worked 10 hours today, came home, settled into the lazy boy, and got online to check some emails, etc. I've been really out of it lately so it's good that I'm not playing poker. I've really missed poker lately, however, so I opened up PartyPoker and thought I might mess around in a freeroll. Now, as much as I want to play real money, I'm really good at following through with my plans, so my hiatus continues. I registered for a little Player's Club Freeroll and soon realized that it sucked and busted pretty quickly. One of my buddies who is new to poker likes to mess around on the play money NL 2000 tables, and I remember sitting down with him once and messing around and having fun. So I decided to open up a play money NL 2000 table and played heads up for somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes. Being the joke that play money is, I took about 1900 play chips off the guy pretty quickly. He seemed to be trying, so decided to try hard to beat him and got my poker fix for the night and put no money on the line. As I'm about to stand up, however, the guy says something to me that strikes me as odd:"Can you transfer some money back to me?"As I'm about to reply "you can't transfer play money," I look at the table number: Table 55279 (no dp) - NL $2000.And then I realize... I wasn't playing play money.I just put about 2/3 of my working bankroll at risk without knowing it and I'm lucky enough to have made almost $1900 in 38 hands. I am in a complete state of shock.I am such an idiot.

custom36 4
Usually when someone says "You won't believe this," it's one of the most believable stories ever. But, this is some funny shit. Congrats. Will you be going back in the future?

Tommyhawkers 0
If you're serious and not screwing with us, this is utterly amaizng. Can I get in line to get on my knees for you? This is insane. You should take the week off as since something this amazing just happened to you, it's bound to come back at you. Life has variance too. $1,900! I've made $700 today in poker and was happy as all get out. It look me about 6 hours and a ton of hands. You do this in 38 hands. How jealous I am. This is awesome. Great job! (..I think..) Chiggleslap 0
Will you be going back in the future? FUCK NO. But I'm looking back on this heads up match now... I totally owned this guy. He was weak/tight, so I was able to pick up a lot of blinds preflop, but I flat-out held over this guy... I won $500 or so on what was probably a coin flip w/ my AK... nevermind, just checked the hand, he reraised his last 300 preflop w/ J 10  .Wow, now I'm looking back at key hands...I hold 88 on the button. He raises to $65 preflop (blinds are $10/$20) and I call. Flop is 10 3 7 w/ two spades. He checks, I bet $130 (size of the pot), he check/raises all in for $435, I call. He had A 6 offsuit.TQ offsuit in the SB. I raise to $60, he raises to $200. I call.Flop is T Q 3, two spades. I check, he bets $499, I raise all in, he folds. Big pot.He has $300 left at one point. I raise to $60 from SB w/ A 8 , he goes all in, I call. No improvement for either of us and I win. He had QK.Wow, here's a good one...He limps in SB, I raise to $80 w/ Q 6 of spades. He reraises to $225. I call. Flop is 6 7 9 rainbow. He bets $85, i move all in for about $1500. He folds. Wow. If only I had known...That's a few of the bigger hands...edit: this guy had $500 when I sat down and I think he busted three times, reloading twice (one time he rebought for $1000) before I realized what was going on... Rebecca 0
Amazing. I've accidently clicked on the wrong game, but didn't have enough in my account to take a seat. "Can you transfer some money back to me?" Did you know the guy?
steve7stud 0
That's interesting. I wonder if you would have played the hands the same way, if you realized it was for real money.

Chiggleslap 0
That's interesting. I wonder if you would have played the hands the same way, if you realized it was for real money.I played heads up pretty much exactly how I've played heads up against weak players in NL 25 and 50 back when I actually played NL.If I had known it was NL $2000? I would have folded, lost $10, and left... So no, I wouldn't have played the same way.

Hatchet 0
congrats on the takedown man, coolest poker story I've heard in a while. Surely not worrying about the value of the money but just playing the game how it should be played made a big difference, I'm sure Spirit Rock doesn't think too much about the money when he's bluffing 10K with Q high. A lot of the best players just have no respect for money which gives them some advantage over certain opponents.
BarronVangorToth 0
"Can you transfer some money back to me?"Obviously, this is a great story. Kudos on that as most stories aren't. I'm curious as to the quoted bit above... Has anyone else ever been asked this? I wouldn't know how to respond if it was asked of me (other than "what do you mean? no!" since I am rude that way). Spademan 94
Except he actually asked a question.not trying to be a smartass, and he's not a complete dickSo when someone "wonders" something, which is how I phrased it, that isn't a question? That aside, what you're saying is, he's trying to be a dumbass, as opposed to a smartass, and is a partial dick, instead of a complete one?If so, I concur and your post is quality. In this case, you don't have to state that you ragged on him for apparently no reason except to point out that you have more posts than him.Unless your last name is Bobbit, then there is no such thing as is a partial dick. This being said, I concur that your post is completely worthless and you my friend, are a complete rock hard throbbing dick.PS. Chiggle, cool story...that owns...don't spend it all in one place.
