i agree bodog is soft!

Recommended Posts

Well since I have been having horrific times at PS, I decided to try Bodog since many here have said it was soft. Also if you use the CP code you get $100.00 match automatically. You obviously have to play a certain amount to cash out but unlike other matching offers you get it to play with immediately.I played one $6.00 sit and go and found it to be extremely soft. There were only 2 players out of the 9 others that were good or very good players. Here is one hand where I caught a very lucky miracle flop and made a ton since the other 2 guys kept betting in to me and wouldn't go away.Notice that I was a good boy and kept my keyboard shut the entire time and didn't type a word!! (See Keith I told you I was reformed)Starting hand #94876849Dealer: New handDealer: RBL1120 posts the small blind $5.00Dealer: gldnchild posts the big blind $10.00Dealer: DEALING POCKETSDealer: Albatros foldsDealer: gscott27 foldsDealer: hawkeye16 raises $90.00 to $100.00Dealer: Rick_TX foldsDealer: cdub raises $90.00 to $190.00Dealer: Throatpoker foldsDealer: majorleag calls $190.00Dealer: Luvto_Pokeher foldsDealer: RBL1120 foldsDealer: gldnchild foldsDealer: hawkeye16 calls $90.00Dealer: DEALING FLOP ( Qs, Kd, Qh )Dealer: hawkeye16 bets $50.00Dealer: cdub calls $50.00Dealer: majorleag calls $50.00Dealer: DEALING TURN ( 8h )Dealer: hawkeye16 bets $500.00Dealer: cdub calls $500.00Dealer: majorleag calls $500.00Dealer: DEALING RIVER ( 6c )Dealer: hawkeye16 checksDealer: cdub goes all in $260.00Dealer: majorleag goes all in $260.00Dealer: hawkeye16 foldsDealer: cdub shows a Pair, QueensDealer: cdub shows a Pair, QueensDealer: majorleag shows a Full House, Queens full of KingsDealer: Hand 94876849: majorleag wins main pot($2755.00) with a Full House, Queens full of KingsDealer: cdub finished in 10th placeI really am not sure what these other guys were playing with a king and 2 queens on the board?I ended up in second, the other guy kept catching every card, but it was good nonetheless. One odd quirk though, and I am going to call them to ask about this. The money I won has not yet shown up in my account? I know many of you have played on Bodog, is there a delay of sorts from when you win to when it shows up in your account?I am not crazy about the interface but I do believe the play is much softer than PS.

Leave.  Now.  I don't want to run into you at the tables.  I'll actually pay you a substantial hourly rate to stay put at PokerStars.
Oh how very cute!I can't get a break on this forum. I was just agreeing with what many, many others have said long before me that the play is soft.I am not claiming to be a fantastic player or anything else, just that in my opinion, at least at this particular table the players were much softer then what I normally encounter on PS.That's all, nothing more, nothing less. Sigh!

I actually wasn't being sarcastic. Otherwise i would have put the <sw> thingy in there with one of these guys ( ) You have a good SNG record and I like the fact that it's usually an easy trip through the bubble at BoDog. Tell you what... just give me your screen name so I can avoid your table whenever possible. :club:

Major... Not wishing to be disrespectful but you cant expect any 'very good' players at a 6 dollar stt. I was under the impression you played considerably higher limits. I have never played Bodog but I wouldnt get carried away with that one STT.

I will hopefully cover the last 3 posts or so in one fell swoop. I thought you were being sarcastic as I have become quite the verbal punching bag on this forum, so I guess I pretty much expect that response each time.Burn, okay point taken, again I am a little gun shy at this point.Pimp, I assure you that I am not making any final determinations about the site predicated on one experience at a low limit SnG. I have been getting soooo badly pummeled recently that I wanted to dip my toe into the Bodog waters and then go higher limits from there.I do and have played some MTT, SnG's and ring games at much higher altitudes but I need to have much better bankroll management and am determined to do so.Who knows if 2-3 weeks from now, if I will still feel that Bodog is softer? I just remember many people here making that comment so I thought I could use a temporary change of scenery and my first experience corroborated the information I had read on here.As a side note, I really like their customer service. They are prompt, courteous and have answers. They were able to explain the discrepancy in my account quickly. For any of you that have experienced this, here is the scoop:If you go and check your balance on the web it accurately reflects the amount in your account up to the minute. If you look at the amount in the upper left hand corner of the Poker lobby it is not accurate. In order to have the correct amount reflected in your lobby window, you need to log out and log back in, which is inconvenient or you can go to a new table and when you go to buy in your correct balance will show up. The customer service rep was very nice and acknowledged that this weird quirk is not good, and he thinks/hopes that when the 2.0 software is released this will be fixed. The other thing that I thought was very weird is when they choose to do maintainance. They shut the poker room down completely every Thursday from 10:00-10:30 am. I know that every site does maintainance but you would figure they would do it in the wee hours of the morning. No big deal, just my observation.

yeh i love the sites that give you your bonus upfront and then place the withdrawal requiremtn upon you once you start playing- anyway of getting this bonus and also rakebaxk?? I know bodog offers 20% is this bonus also given to you immediately? once i get my cash rom another site into my neteller account, i am hoping to be a proud bonus whore.

As best I can tell you can't double dip, you get either the $100 CP bonus which is what I went for or the $20.00 Neteller bonus. The reason I make this assumption is when I first made the $100 deposit via Neteller, it showed that I had $120.00. I emailed their support to ask, what's up with that, since I didn't yet realize that you need to go to the web and look at your account to properly reflect what you have and then I noticed that I had $200.00 not $120.00.Their system does have some really weird quirks, anomolies though in how they handle the transactions. For example when I looked at my statement it showed that I had received a credit for $6.50 then a debit for $6.50 for the SnG, which is a very bizarre way of reflecting this since I paid $6.50, to play I didn't receive a credit. In any event I really don't care how the hell they come up with the amount as long as it is correct which it is.The only thing I haven't looked at yet is how many Bodog points you need to earn to be able to take the $100 bonus out. With my luck it is probably something like 14 billion points!Well I am well on my way because that one SnG gave me 50 points.

Doh!I just checked out their site and everyone gets 50 points to start with, so I have earned zero so far. That means I have 13,000,000,050 more to go to get my $100.00Woo hoo!!

Again I need to play many, many more hands to come to the final conclusion that Bodog is softer then PS but here is another example that indicates softer players:Starting hand #94898809Dealer: New handDealer: devo1099 posts the small blind $0.50Dealer: majorleag posts the big blind $1.00Dealer: DEALING POCKETSDealer: eljoey14 foldsDealer: luc11 calls $1.00Dealer: hustler18 foldsDealer: aekyledb calls $1.00Dealer: zeus 11 calls $1.00Dealer: RJules12 foldsDealer: devo1099 foldspermkang: a twins fan in atlanta?Dealer: majorleag checksDealer: DEALING FLOP ( Kd, 4d, 6d )Dealer: majorleag bets $1.00Dealer: luc11 foldsDealer: aekyledb calls $1.00Dealer: zeus 11 foldsDealer: DEALING TURN ( Ts )Dealer: majorleag checksDealer: aekyledb bets $6.00Dealer: majorleag calls $6.00Dealer: DEALING RIVER ( 8c )Dealer: majorleag bets $5.00Dealer: aekyledb raises $5.00 to $10.00Dealer: majorleag calls $5.00Dealer: aekyledb shows a Pair, KingsDealer: majorleag shows a Pair, KingsDealer: Hand 94898809: majorleag wins($36.75) with a Pair, Kings with a Jd kickerThe other guy had King, 3 Off suit! Keith and Krupz notice I kept my keyboard shut!!!

instead of logging out and pack in just open a ring table, click on a open seat and then hit cancel that will reset game balance to new balance. Plus you cant beat the sport book.Another thing is you only earn points in hands you put money in not just get dealt.

Actually not quite true, this is very, very cool and straight from their website:Time spent playing: You will accumulate Bodog Poker Points for every minute spent playing at a table. 1 point is awarded for every 60 minutes of play. All time spent 'playing' (sitting out is not 'playing time') at free games, real money games, and during tournaments counts towards points earned. 500 points earned for playing time is the maximum value that can be accumulated per calendar month. So they will even let you accrue points in play games as long as you are in the hand! Not that I want to waste my time earning points at play tables but just for playing you earn points.

That clicking on a table trick then cancelling won't work if you are sitting at another table.I just tried it and my balance did not reflect what was sitting at the table I was playing at.Well so far I like Bodog, just fine.I put $100.00 in and have $233.75 including the bonus. Not too shabby.I believe you need 300 points to cash the $100, 3 for every dollar. Pretty reasonable if you ask me, especially since you can fold your hand and still get points for playing.Yes at 1 point per hour it would take forever, but let's face it you will actually be in some of the hands either in the blinds or otherwise.I think it is a pretty darn good program, all in all.

sounds like ill have to sign up once i get some cash in my neteller aaccount.Bonus is CP correct? Clearing at only 3 points per bonus dollar seems pretty fair.
I emailed their support and they confirmed that it is a 300 point rollover. Very fair and very achieveable I might add!!!
