I never said dealers cheat.  So don't YOU put words in my mouth. If you knw anything about the game, it is nearly impossible for dealers to cheat. and no one in their right mind would risk getting blacklisted. Get yourself a cookie for that.   You fail to see that the Rio spent tons of money on a expanded convention center, hired the staff, supplied all the chips and tables, and ran the event fairly smoothly for six weeks and took a 6% cut for all their work.  But you could care less about that.   You only see the players side.  Just like Royal Tour out there, and everyone else who thinks just because the dealt their home game they could be a dealer, and Harrah's and the staff are robbing them.   People should actually attempt to do the job themselves before they judge it.Wow, I can't spend all day correcting you so this will be the last one, they didn't take a 6% cut for all their work.  They took 4% and 2% went right into the pockets of 758 hard working individuals, dude if you want to keep doing this, take some time to read everything 2 or 3 times, then, write your response, and then have your mom double check your work before you turn it in.Ummm,  I didn't say 9mil  idiot,  I said  $9.  nine dollars,  and I didn't say if the staff  "took" 1% less I said if the staff took 1% "more" for 3% total instead of 2, geez bro I was actually on your side on this one, but you f'd it up, READ you d.umb.azz, geezuz it's not that you don't read apparently it's that you "can't" Read!   And they should have spent some money on some freaking BATHROOMS!!!If not for Harrah's and the staff, there wouldn't be a WSOP to compete in to begin with.  So show a little gratitude for them putting on the best event in the Poker World.This year I played in 9 events as well as the main event, and trust me it was far from "the best event in the Poker World".  Frankly speaking the WPT events have been head and shoulders above the WSOP events.  I enjoyed the WSOP pre '03 the best, Binions rocks.  But as you mentioned I don't play live Poker apparently, so, What do I know.I just got back from the Harrah's circuit event, and all I can say about that is.... I wish I went to Borgata, a WPT event instead, so Tomorrow I will leave for Atlantic City.  I hope my lack of experience at the "Live games" doesn't hurt me there!

good post...the story just keeps getting worse. Too bad you got knocked out. There isn't too much the dealers can do to affect the outcome, but you should know that dealers do all they can to look out for players that take care of them. As a poker player, I'd rather have the dealer on my side than against me.

i sure as hell hope this isn't true. if it is, that's the best reason i've heard yet not to tip them.

I'm just talking about you being cheap in general, like your comment about you dont tip when there is % taken already....so when you go with a group to a restraunt where there is a gratuity, do you not tip the waitress ?

If the bill is 100.00 and their is a gratuity charge of 15% added, then i would aggree to all throw in an extra bit to bring it up to 20%. if the gratuity charge was 20% i would not throw in extraif i was alone and no gratuity was added, i would tip 15 - 25% depending on service, and "chance to get her number"If i was served by multiple waiters and waitresses, would i tip them all 15%?. of course not, my tip would still remain 15 - 25% of the final bill. Even if i knew they were going to devide that up amongst them all.When you're at a bar and the drink is 3.75 and you pay with a 5 . do you tip?. do you tip 0.25 or d you tip a dollar. or do you just leave the change?.I'l tell you what i do, I leave the change. Of course i think this is ridiculous over a span of time, since he/she did about 20 seconds of work. But i have a sister, and friends who were / are still bartenders, and i understand some of the BS they go through. Which can alter my view.But like i said for the 5th time now, do i tip dealers . You couldn't really be that naive. The good old boys and girls of Harrah's doing the world of poker a big favor? They made a business decision and set prices they thought would give them the correct balance of paying customers, taking into account the drinks, rakes at side games, rooms, publicity, etc. Gratitude? Smash, As far as I know, NONE of the poker magazine's had articles written about the whole joseph hachem tip situation, or even tournament tipping in general. wether or not it was 3 months ago doesn't change the fact that the editor of gutshot hadn't even HEARD about the $100 tip... and since it hadn't been in any of the other magazines... i guess since its being debated again on HERE you can say I "rehashed" the topic, but I didn't take an opinion on the whole joseph hachem part, I only took an opinion on what I think the tournament hosts could do to make the situation betterlame subject matter? thats your opinion. just like how I think ROMANCE NOVELS suck ( i don't really know if its true... if it is... then... well...
