fortunate mistake

NL hold 'em 1000 person game, $30 buy. Blinds at 25/50, I have about 1000 chips. I raise to 150 with qq, button calls (he has about 1700 chips). Flop kj7 with 2 diamonds, I bet out 250, button considers for awhile and calls. Turn comes ragged and I decide to gamble on it, figure it's worth a shot that he doesn't have a king. So I move in....but I accidentally don't move in. Instead of betting all my chips, I bet the minimum, 50 chips totally by accident. He considers again for a minute, decides to put me all in. I figure there's a good chance that he's either on a draw, has a worse pair than me, or thinks I'm some nutjob cuz I bet 50 chips into an 800 chip pot, so I call. He shows rags, 98 offsuit, inside draw which he misses. Now I figure that if I had moved in on the turn like I meant to, he would have folded. He didn't have any kind of hand to call with, and he wasn't some fool who liked drawing inside. He probably called on the flop thinking that he could bluff me on the turn or river...if I stopped shooting at it and showed an obvious weakness. Once in awhile I'll totally underbet the pot with the best hand, but only if I think my opponent has complete rags. Pretend to be some meek fool, and let him bluff...sometimes a baby bet feigns weakness better than a check.. This time was by accident though. Hahahahaha
