SuperJon 175
I've built my bankroll up to the point where I can play .25/.50 Limit hold'em. I like it so far, and I'm making a small profit so far. My main question is this, at what level does bluffing gain value? Right now, bluffing is -EV at the tables I'm playing. I guess it's good because when I have the nuts I'm guaranteed action at all times. Thanks

It is true that low limit players call more but they will fold Q high when they miss their pair draw, a hand u cant beat w/ 8 high when u miss your straight draw. Also if u get caught bluffing once you will be branded as a bluffer for the rest of the session and get excessive action on made hands.
akishore 0
this is a very vague question.what do you mean by bluffing?betting with A-K on a missed flop?betting with 8-high on the river?betting with ACE-high on the river?betting with two black queens on the turn on a board of Jh Th 7h 2c?betting with two black queens on the river on a board of Jh Th 7h 2c 6h?"bluff" is a very relative term, and some of these are great in particular games while being horrendous in others (and vice versa).aseem

LewFather 0
At lower limits It's not even about table image. You can go on a rush and try to take a pot off someone and get it called by a very weak drawing hand. I have a hard time bluffing at .50/1.00 but every once and awhile I'll move someone off the hand. justblaze 0
hes about right though. there are bluffable players at 3-6 too.
Abbaddabba 0
You can effectively bluff at all levels. You just need to watch to see which players can be bluffed. Some will call you down consistantly with as little as king high. Others will fold small pairs. If you know which player is which, and you can judge the strength of their cards based on how the hand played out, you can definitely bluff. You can usually bet people off of ace high by raising a flop against the PFR when it comes ragged and you have a draw. If it gets to showdown - you've made no pair, and he's shown no aggression, a bet might take down the pot against certain players.
