Your bet on the turn was ridiculous. You bet what, 3 times the pot? It wasn't going to matter as you were going to get called by the 2's anyways, but in the long run this is going to cost you money or in a tournament chips....you don't want to blow away someone who's over playing something like a9...you want them calling your bets. Betting 3 times the size of the pot is going to have people folding most of the time unless they happen to have another set.

you shouldnt of bet the flopand you shouldnt of vastly, vastly, vastly, VASTLY overbet the pot on the turneven though youre losing this every time, you still played it badly

I am sorry I posted and asked. I had the top set and knew from his previous play he would call.I lose to the ONLY card he can get. Them's the breaks. I know Eddie in your eyes I misplay all my hands. I wonder what your track record is?

Lastly, tell you why I disagree with all the assesments. It is much better to take a pot down that maybe smaller than what you might make then to get greedy and lose a big pot.At the turn it was very, very clear he had a set or pocket aces, kings or some other pocket pair.I am not going to slow down and give him a chance if he has a higher pocket pair to make a cheap higher set.I was happy if he folds or calls at that point. So the play was right based upon that thinking. Didn't work out but again only one card beats me, he caught it, good for him.I would play it the same damn way each god damn time!!

Maybe you do misplay all your hands. You misplayed this one pretty poorly. There is very little you are getting called by here, and you got beat by a 1 outer. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, advance directly to the Bad Beat Forum. And I'm not sure about Eddie's track record, but you can get into that argument with me, and You Will Lose I guarantee you that.

raise more preflop.Betting the flop is okBad overbet of the turn
Raise more preflop is the only intelligent comment thus far, if I do maybe he folds right then and there, but it is also dangerous to put too much money in with middle pairs.Again I don't think I overbet the turn as I wanted him to fold, or call but have it be expensive to do soI was ahead pre-flop, flop, and turn.I lost that's the way it goes. He has 1 card to save him.I appreciate your comments, and opinion but since I was at that particular table at that time I stand by my firm belief that I was destined to lose that hand no matter how I played it and still feel I played it correctly.

Have not heard one of you yet, tell me how you would have played it. Tell me Zimmer, how exactly would you have played that to win it or avoid losing it?

You can't avoid losing that. Regardless of the result, you played it shitty. I would continue to bet on the turn, but somewhere in the 250-300 range. At that point, he raises me, and I push back, probably forcing him all in. This is a much better way to sucker in many hands like AJ, or a smaller pocket pair. There is no bet that this guy would fold to, so any bet you make on the turn will get called. That doesn't mean that it's a good play.

I know I'm a fairly new player and I have a lot to learn, but even I can't believe you would seriously bet 3 times the pot in that situation and believe it's a good play. Like Zimmer said, you want overpairs and lower sets to call you here, so why exactly are you betting them out? You don't want them to draw cheaply? Betting 1/2 to 3/4 of the pot when someone has 1 or 2 outs isn't exactly cheap.

Actually Eddie, that is exactly what I am telling you.1. I was at that table and knew how was playing therefore was almost certain he would call that bet.2. It was a cheap qualiifier and if you have ever played those you wold know that people will call with all kinds of hands and draws. So yes I was 98% certain he would call, and he did so I guess I was right about that wasn't I?

OK, so if he has 7 high here, he's gonna call with no draws at all. He is gonna call IF he has a hand like a set. You are an assclown who needs to learn to play. Sir, go directly to MTTs on FullTilt. That's FullTilt Poker. fulltiltpoker.com. Play their Multi Table tournaments there. I could use some more dead money.

LOL, now Eddie that is probably the most intelligent comment I have ever seen you make.Well done sir, well done.Tell you what folks, screw this, let's just agree to disagree. It is very clear that all of you that have commented are highly successful, high limit pro's that play every hand perfectly. So I think I will go back to getting Nikki's picture and solving the mystery of Smasharoo and not post hands.Let this thread die a quick and painful death!

No, let's constantly bump it so all forum members may see how truly stupid you are that you think you made the right play.
