how's everyone doing these days?????????????

Where do they let you buy in for $40, for one, second of all, I lose $40 playing a flush draw properly. You need to sit with much, much more next time you go, if you want to play TAG poker.Zach
Yeah Im diggin here, but I couldnt help commenting on someone elses ridiculous play after he made fun of another person. You lose $40 at 3-6 playing a flush draw properly? I can see how you could, provided enough players were in the pot to justify capping on the turn for value, but youve got to have a lot of variables filled before you can make that play, doesnt pop up all the time.I guess you mean, Im loose aggro and lose 40 over-playing my flushdraws?(but yeah, buying in for anything less than 30 bb is a no no in my opinion)

I'm somehow up $700 over the last four months. Most of that came from an MTT win of $450 on FCP in December. My SnG's are now profitable for the first time ever, but only to the tune of 4% per event. I'd still like to see that go higher. The good news is that I'm bubbling more. I never used to bubble unless I was blinded out. It means I'm not afraid to play cards on the bubble, and that's actually a good thing.Won $1.70 in January. (But pocketed a little more because of the FCP bonus I was clearing.)February and especially March have been OK. Fantastic, fantastic win rates, but absolutely no hand volume. Work has absolutely been overwhelming me, and I'm starting to think of 200 hands 4-tabling as a long session. It also ticks me off, because I think I would need to work at it some to really move up and pay some careful attention. I really don't get into a groove in the short sessions, and so I feel like I'm playing hit-and-run poker. Not because of scared money, but just the work demands, they're overwhelming.I may need a new job. :)Yesterday, I finally had a chance to sit down for a long session, and my ISP kept blinking in and out. I played 30 hands (in two separate stints), and won 6 BB.It's been that way for the last couple of months.

More than doubled my bank roll in 4.5 hours.Had built up about 1300 since January, and last night took third in 50+4 on FCP for 1445.00.Was chip leader with 3 left till i made stupid mistake for 99.9% of my stack.Bummed about making a stupid mistake :D but really stoked about the cash. :club:

After beating party 1/2 full ring for a nice .2 bb/100 (14K hands), I swallowed my pride and dropped back to .5/1 to reasses my skills and weaknesses. I posted a lot of hands and with the help of the strat forum I slowly noticed leaks in my game. I currently have the roll to play 2/4 six max (2000). Although I feel very comfortable at 1/2 6 max right now, and I only have 6K hands at that level. How have your past couple of weeks been? I know with the onset of better weather, I plan on laying off the poker and doing some outdoor activities (GOLF!).
I just noticed this post. Very cool that you are able to show such discipline. I would say that money management has always been my biggest weakness. Glad to see that you are honest and playing within your comfort zone. Kudos.

I have nothing of value to contribute to this thread (as usual) but I wanted to say that Steve is one of the primary reasons I continue to come back here and I for one greatly appreciate his efforts in educating donks like me.Cheers.

Hanguk, I play 1/2 razz... and beat it... I railed you during the WCOOP, and you could beat a much higher razz game. MUCH higher.TP/MM :club:
thanks buddy. i'm sure i can, but i've only played up to .50/1, so i'm not comfortable going up two levels. i'll just go with 1/2 now.but thanks a ton for the kind words.

I've been doing very well lately. Finished 3rd in Bodog's 25k gaureenteed last week, finished 88th in the CA state championship for nothing, but played really well which is all I can ask for. Other than that, doing really well.

I moved to NL cash. Destroyed that for a while. Ran cold for a week, and got into the 180s on Stars so as to not tilt my BR away in the cash games. I ended up crushing those.I've got an extremely health bankroll for the first time in forever, and no more stakes or anything on a regular basis.I really wanted to play in the WCOOP this year, so I decided to put up some cash to get into the $530 NL Event #2. I couldn't satellite in, so I sold about 40% and ended up taking 414th for $1123.75, about a $400 profit for me, my first time ever playing a large buy in tourney.I just won a PLO $8 + rebuy MTT satellite to the $320 WCOOP event, but I suck at PLO and just went into that to kill time, and luckboxed my way through the turbo, so I unregistered, and now I will probably play in another WCOOP Event, this time 100% myself, so 100% of my first place winnings (if I'm lucky enough) will be mine :club:.I also have a sort of plan to quit my ghey min wage job at the end of the month to focus on school, as poker provides a much larger wage anyways, and it will free up homework and poker time, along with more flexibility. However, I need to hit a few monetary goals by the end of the month to ensure I have a nice little bundle stored away in case of emergency.Anywho, Steve, hope everything is going well with you as well. For me, this is the best poker has been for me in a long time. I'm back on my feet, no longer begging for stakes, etc, it's fantastic.- Zach

I'm making a few hundred per week playing small stakes PLO, and I'm breaking even at 3/6 limit. I've gotten much better at NLHE to the point where my home game friends don't call me anymore, so I might start playing at Foxwoods or Borgata more often.

The past month or so has been brutal for me. I'm barely beating the rake at 15+1 ST turbos, I'm not bubbling, but finishing 5th or 6th an awful lot, and only I'm winning 1 out of 3 when I get heads up. I've been coolered AT vs AJ or some other garbage HU way too many times recently. I'm down 100BBs at 2/4 LHE, which used to be my best game. I'm not getting cards, and when I do I'm just not hitting, ever. My pf fold is over 80%. Not hitting sets, and my aces are getting cracked by J7 after 25T flops. I've been trying OH8, and I typically get in the hole 10BBs or so every session and finish up one or two. As far as MTTs go, I've been crushing them before the first break (I've been in the top 2% at the first break in 9 of my last 10) But I've been getting absolutely jobbed in the next hour, busting out or limping into the money. Thats all online, and with school I haven't had the opportunity to play much live, and the MTTs that would be within my roll are during class, and the ones I can play in would be putting way too much pressure on my roll.

The last 5 weeks or so have been pretty good after I took a 3 month hiatus from playing. With no bankroll I ponied up $45 for a B&M rebuy tournament and won it for about $600 after a chop. (There were only about 40 players)Then I won it again three weeks later, this time for around $700 after a chop. Got 8/1375, 12/1230, and 70/1330 in the $10 Stars tourney last Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday respectively. Also won a $4-180 and took second in another. Built online bankroll to around $700 after only having about $5 left in my Stars account. 0 to 2000 in 5 weeks is pretty sweet.Just need to reintroduce myself to the cash game (on Bodog, maybe) and continue to play sober. This was a big struggle for me, but I'm doing well at it, and my results have been good which has been an added incentive.

Hey Steve,I've been running pretty bad for a couple of weeks, and maybe playing kinda bad as well. I took a string of crazy beats and my confidence was starting to get shot, and in turn I was starting to make bad decisions and things were getting worse. BR was going in the wrong direction. But last night I turned things around and finished 3rd in a limit rebuy tourney on stars. Not a major cash, but in the right direciton anyway. Made up for everything I've lost in the last couple weeks plus a little more. I had a huge chip lead at the final table. I should have cruised to the win but when we got short handed I screwed it up. I need to work on my short handed limit play.
