Herr Mensch 0
I would like to play poker at the same table with my wife without having to go to the university to do so. But if we both log in and sit at the same table together, from the same IP address, the poker software would certainly notice, right? So no go.ButMy school lets faculty and students use a VPN client to access the campus intranet from off-campus, to use site-licensed software and such. A colleague explained to me "It basically gives your computer a campus ip address".Can anyone verifyor refute this? My understanding of internet protocol is limited, but I was under the impression that your IP address was assigned by your ISP when you logged on. Can a remote site actually change your IP address? And if so, can Frau Mensch and I sit at the same table at the same time from two computers in the same house without sending up a red flag?
