NHL2K5 was awesome. Just when the EA games were getting repetitive, this came out for 30 bucks (canadian). If they manage to have accurate rosters I am all over this. I don't have X-Box live, and I don't feel like completing 1200 trades to update it.

A franchise mode based in the salary cap era would be amazing. I wonder if you can start a Franchise from July 1st, 2005, with only players that were signed on that date on your team. Playing virtual GM with a salary cap and all those free agents would be awesome. OK, ill stop talking to myself now.

yah 2k5 was good. but i think that the Ea games are a little better. yah you pay more but you also get more for your money i think. for instance you can't even compare espn nfl 25k with any of the madden series. EA just owns when it comes to sports games.

This was true up until last year. Sega Sports was gaining huge ground on EA, especially with their NFL game. That is why EA panicked and got an exclusive NFL contract. NHL2K5>NHL2005, IMO.

2K5 was a good game, but the gameplay was too slow for my taste. Also any player with speed could pile in the goals at will. I would play 20 games into a franchise and I would have Pavol Demitra with over 40 goals, which would have put him on pace to break Gretzky's record by the All Star Game. All you had to do was come in one side of the goal and then cut across to the other side of the crease and you would have a goal 95% of the time. Another thing I hated was there was NEVER anyone online to play with. I'll probably go with EA's hockey game this, because the video's and previews I have seen of 2K6 look almost similar to last years version.

Yeah the AI defence is awful, I will give you that (although so is NHL2005). Playing multiplayer was really fun though. Playing defence is tough, but it can be done if you play your garbage goal scoring friend enough.

Best news!This year's NHL 2k6 will be voiced by Canada's Bob Cole and Harry Neale from Hockey Night in Canada!Excellent move, not that I minded the ESPN guys, but the CBC crew will give me the feeling of sitting down on Saturday night to watch my beloved Leafs!

2K5 was the better game last year.I'd still rather play NHL 2004 though. 2005 was to freakin arcadey. Is no one getting an xbox360? Seriously jus twait and get it for the 360 2k6 will be so much better on next gen. if of course your getting the system to begin with.

Meh, I own 4 games, which are available on both systems. No big difference. I'm to busy with online poker to play video games anymore .
