I am a writer, I don't have anything published under my "real" name, I do live in Boston, I'm a Harvard dropout....I was allready where I wanted to be writing and the degree wasn't going to make me any more money in the genre I write in.My name is Tim Donohue.I'm 32 years old, refer to my fiance as "my wife" out of habbit because we've been together for 5 years but we're not technically married. I have one younger brother, a couple of cats, like pina colladas and taking walks in the rain...
wow, I don't know whether to believe this or not, "Tim". Is "Tim Donohue" your new character???I mean come on, pina coladas? Cats? You sound so vicious on the internet. I highly doubt that Smash, and Tim Donohue are the same, but good one. Personally, I'm a dog-loving, Jack-and-Coke kind of Irishman. I know that writers have editors but I just wanted you to know that "...wasn't going to make me any more money in the genre I write in." is supposed to be "...the genre in which I write." But anyway... "Tim Donohue" and I have a lot in common, I've actually been dating my girlfriend for 5-1/2 years, too! Why buy the cow...? 8) Just kidding, we'll probably be engaged by the end of this year. Smash, I figured you for about 27-28, 32 isn't far off though.Blatant family plug: Since we're discussing writing, I should do my mom a favor and tell you all to check out her book, "Norwegian Wood", by Judith Farrell, you can find it on the Internet at Elibris.com I think, or you can demand to have it printed (print-on-demand) from Barnes & Noble, etc. It's fiction, but it's based on some true occurences in Norway during WWII. I, too, like to write, however, lately I prefer to spend my computer time playing poker, rather than writing! 8)

lol. Sure, there's a Father McKenzie, a Lucy, a lady Madonna, Eleanor Rigby, as well as a Taxman. No, I think she stole the name for her book from them, but that's it. She grew up during Beatlemania. From what I've read it's a good book, she did a lot of research. I haven't read it all and she's pissed at me. lol. I hate reading though, I'd much rather write than read. I have a much easier time creating a story than interpreting someone elses.

Ramotica.... you aren't the only geek that refernced it. Aside from that you did USE the geek phrase that pays,,,can't stop the bullet after you pull the trigger. There's no shame in PLAYING everquest,,,,only in talking about it with others here.

Since we're discussing writing, I should do my mom a favor and tell you all to check out her book, "Norwegian Wood", by Judith FarrelMust get confused with the Murakami book of the same title a lot no?
Probably, that one is actually in-stock at bookstores. Her's isn't "published" en masse, so to say. It's print-on-demand. Anyone can publish a print-on-demand book really, they just have to pay a fee and pay someone to edit it and stuff, but one of the benefits is that she has 'artistic control' of the cover, so if she wanted she could use a picture of an 8-kilobyte doll she found on google images and invert the colors. The larger book retailers will order print-on-demand books b/c they have the resources to order one book at a time, and it's not as inefficient as it would be if a small bookstore had to do so. Plus, they obviously don't want to order 400 copies of a book that they have no idea will sell, so p-o-d is a good way to extend their "customer service".With all that said, I look forward to seeing everyone on the forum publishing their own poker strategy book!
