thenuts29 0
hey all, first post here.i was playing a $5 sit-and-go today on full tilt and i had a crazy hand come up. sorry i dont have the hand history, but i remember the details clearly because it was wacky!!!i had 77 on the button, blinds were at 40 and 80, and there were 8 people left. one guy had knocked another out and had been stealing a lot, and was up over 4000, while everyone else was around a thousand or so. we get 3 limpers, and i limp from the button. flop comes out 257 with 2 clubs. what a flop for me, top set. instantly, the sb (mr chipleader) goes allin! sweet, i get a good chance to double up...until the big blind and one of the limpers also call!i called, and they all flipped their hands over: bb had 34 of clubs for the open ended straight flush draw, the big blind had 55, and the other caller had 22. set over set over set plus an open ended straight flush draw! the flush came on the turn with the 9 of clubs, but then the 9 of hearts rivered and i took down this 4000+ chip pot. i went on to get 2nd in the sit and go, which was pretty good because i had a rough week. i'm just wondering if i played the hand right. should i have raised it preflop? should i have not called with 3 people allin??? JesseW316 0
If there had been lots of stealing pre-flop, then the table was pretty tight. If so, then I wouldn't have raised pre-flop after three limpers. On the flop, I guess calling a three-way all-in was ok, since you had the stone nuts.

I am not saying you should definitely fold, but this would be one of the rare cases in hold 'em where you fold the nuts on the flop. In this case, there were 17 outs against you(assuming none of the sets had a club),which you were an underdog to take down the main pot. In a situation like that, you are almost never going to be more than a 3:2 favorite to win the hand.

Merlopj 0
I might very well have folded that hand. I mainly play $5 and $10 SnGs. (Started at Pokerroom and switched to Full Tilt a while ago after losing too many of these types of hands. ) Yes, you have the nuts, but there are 3 all ins in front of you. Yes, huge pot, but you've only limped in so far, like you would have playing a 'normal' game, but in this case the odds are too great to get drawn out on. You've invested as minimal as possible, but the All Ins are too much, IMHO. It's still fairly early in the SnG, and you don't wanna go out 8th. Also, whoever wins this pot will usually be more than happy to call off most of that stack over the next 10 hands or so. Sure, you'll win this hand this hand most of the time in the 'long run', but this is a $5 SnG and by folding you know 2 people will possibly go out or get crippled, and that puts you a little closer to the money. That leaves 2 big stacks itching to call off their easy earned money, and a few lower stacks probably a bit gun shy and a little timid to lose at the table. Easy pickins from there out if you're patient and smart enough. On the other hand, it's really a $5 gambool and winning the pot will give you enough ammo to run over the smaller stacks for a few key pots and, like you did, take second or win the table.I probably would've called, then kicked the wall when the 4th deuce hit on the turn.P
InertGrudge 0
Please no...not again.Seriously, this is one of the times when my finger starts hurting because I am hitting the space to call the all-in(s) so rapidly before the button comes up. Especially in a $5 SNG and especially with 8 people still remaining. If someone draws out on me -- fine, I'll go on and play another one. However, the more likely case will be that I will knock out at least two people and triple up.I like it when that happens. Why? Because I like money.
kennyg1966 0
i would have called in a heartbeeeeeet.if it was a 5k sitngo...ya never know
KoRnholio 2
In a $5 sng on a two-suited board of 257 the all in guys could easily have hands like A7o, 99, 34o, Kxs, etc. There's no way I am folding here.
augmented 0
FOLD THE NUTS.i hope everyone knows i'm kidding since i was like the biggest call advocate on the other thread. wow though, this is a crazy ass hand.

jrbrown1548 0
With a hand like 77 on the button and 4 people (including you) in, it is always better to see a flop with that many people and see what happens, espcially with the button. +EV most of the time unless you get sucked out
