Be careful in the $10 rebuys on stars. Those people that are "throwing there money away" are often the top tournament players online. All the TLB leaders play the $10 and $20 rebuy tourneys on stars, and yes they are willing to make many many rebuys. I played one recently and had Premier, Gank and G6Dragon all at my table....talk about action.
You talk like there's some threat of them getting into your bank account and stealing your life's savings. They can sure take your chips in a tournament, but come on :-) I have played with Phil Laak in a non-rebuy $10 tournament before. It's like, "Dude, shouldn't you be somewhere on TV making an ass of yourself?"
My point was he talks like those tourneys are full of fish when in reality they are full of top notch players who don't mind tossing a hundred dollars or more into a $10 tourney. And trying to play a $10 rebuy tourney on $50 is suicide when half your table has a 5 figure bankroll and will put you all-in with any 2 cards at anytime and burn that bankroll up in the first 10 minutes.

That has to be one of the dirtiest shots I've ever seen. Come on, this is a poker forum.

Ok...this is has already been established. Oh and i snuck out and played cards again. 60 man tournament and i took 3... but i'm such a bad player. Then i went and played 4/8 and took 150 off that table.. but i'm such a bad player. Why don't u post something meaningful, and quit stating the obvious...after all i'm trying to learn how to not be a LOOSING player. Sorry had to throw that in THEIR.

There are definately some good points in this thread if you can sift through all the B.S. The $10 rebuys are *not* something you want to do on a $50 budget. My appologies for stating otherwise earlier. The $5 rebuys *are* swimming with fish, but even that may be too much for your $50 bankroll. Although, if you are getting $50 a month and want to try something different, I recommend the $5 rebuys. These tournaments are very easy to make the money, and with such a small bankroll that should be your first objective in any MTT. My recommendation for bankroll building with a $50 roll is $5 SNGs. If you plan to go this route, don't do it on Party though. They charge a $1 fee (20%), whereas most other sites charge a $0.50 fee (10%). I would recommend Stars or AP for the $5 SNGs. I think you should steer clear of Limit, because you are clearly not making any money on those tables.

IMO,the reason others and myself sometimes get so negative with posters is because we have to. They come in here looking for us to protect them and their styles from the real world. They dont want to hear how to do things correctly or even better, they want to hear that they are playing good poker, its the swings of poker, its bad beats just relax. Then the fella comes in and starts posting meaningless stats like getting third in a tourney, and cashing in one night. Congrats to you, but I think everyone that plays poker for any amount of time and knowledge knows that a one night run is nothing. Case in point, my first time ever playing poker for money, I hit a straight flush at a 5/10 table. I sat with a wonderfull 65 bucks, yeah I knew what I was doing when I called a raise with 8Ts. I soon lost that money. Few weeks later with enough knowledge to be dangerous ( to myself ) I went back and played 2/4 with 60 bucks. Had it over 300 and cashed out 260. Went again won big, and again. But I soon realized that I still had no clue and needed more help, I got it and have been a fairly successful low limit player. Deposited 50 bucks, over 10K in a year.Secondly attitude will get you trashed here or any forum faster than anything. If you ask for advice be prepared for to hear things, dont fire back with ridiculous statements. Will just get you buried.P.S. I know my spelling and grammar sucks. Im just a dumb state employee who runs a medium security prison. Forgive me :club:
