Honestly though, the best thing for a terrible player to hear is how bad they are. It gets the idea in their head that maybe they really aren't as good as they think they are. That idea either gets them to play less or no poker, or evaluate their play more and learn from their mistakes. This is why i get mad at players that tell terrible players how bad they are in live games. Whether you realize it or not smash is trying to help you, and being as this is a forum for poker i think that's kind of the idea here. For the guy talking about how low limit online poker is unbeatable, guess what, it's not. You will get sucked out on at any level, you have to learn how to adapt your play to your opponents. Why would you want to learn to play against better players that are only adapting to you better than you are to them? Learn how to beat bad players before you try to beat good ones.

If it was you, offhand I think you played too many hands, and didn't pay enough attention to your position.

I have only played on UB..and i have a different name...and u just proved my point....kind of....but thats what i'm talking about. Its hard to play against so many bad players. There either staying for a flush draw...or runner flush draw. Or a straight draw...runner straight draw. Second pair...bottom pair. I like to play hands that will usually give me top pair w/ a good kicker. in a higher limit your usually against 1 or 2 draws and someone w/ a lower kicker. In the micro limits....every body is drawing even the guy w/ the sh itty kicker.Jason

Your right I did loose money playing 4/8...but it was because thats the limit i learned how to play at...  and even that was more because of not using my bankroll correctly.  i started out w/ a 1,500 and lossed that in about 4 months.   I did pay for my girlfriends anniversary ring w/ a $100 buy in.  The ring was  $1,200....That was last month...i haven't proposed yet.  It took my two weeks......she thinks i lost the 100 by the way.... Anyway...ok...so i suck... i can deal w/ that "how do you get better?      In every aspect of competition in my life I've gotten better by playing against people who are better than me.  And I agree w/ your thought on limit vs no limit which why i play limit.

Cobalt, I agree with you. Let's get a few things straight:"LOOSE" = the opposite of "tight." As in, "That guy who calls with Q-4 sure is a LOOSE player.""LOSE" = the opposite of "win." As in, "When you flop the top pair, and my pocket pair flops a three of a kind, I'm going to win, and you're going to LOSE."The past tense of "lose" is "LOST," not "lossed." There's even a TV show by that name. That should make it easy.Seriously, can we at least correctly spell simple words that we use quite often? It would be much easier to discuss the poker if we can get simple things like this worked out.Ugh.

Yeah, don't you hate it when people put more money into the pot when YOU have the best hand? Just learn how to play the game and you will win. I am truly sorry that you aren't very good and can't handle swings, but this is an easy game to learn how to play correctly at low-limits.1. Read a book (preferably SSHE).2. Re-read that book.3. Study that book a little bit more.4. Deposit more than $50.5. Tell your girlfriend that she is a bitch and needs to stop running your life.6. Pick a limit that is right for your bankroll.7. Play at that limit for A LONG TIME.8. Don't take money OUT of your bankroll for anything other than an emergency.9. The reason people always talk about how how their set of aces got cracked by a gutshot draw, and from now on they are only going to play NL to "push" people off draws, is because they dont understand how to beat a limit game. Once you understand it, you will stop complaining about the beats and start to beat these games consistently. Quite a few well-respected writers begin sentences with 'and'. I'm actually pretty anal when it comes to spelling, punctuation, and comprehensibility. That said, if you want to end your sentence in a preposition or write in a syntactically informal style...go right ahead.

I'll give it a shot.Why would you deposit $50 per month and play outside your bankroll? It's like saying, I'm going to lose $50 per month for the next x months to try to learn low limit online poker. Strange stratagy me thinks.You should strive to make that $50 deposit the only deposit. It will take along time to build it up. Hell, if I suck as bad as Smasharoo suggest, and even I was able to take one down for $3,500, then there's no reason you can't.

Be careful in the $10 rebuys on stars. Those people that are "throwing there money away" are often the top tournament players online. All the TLB leaders play the $10 and $20 rebuy tourneys on stars, and yes they are willing to make many many rebuys. I played one recently and had Premier, Gank and G6Dragon all at my table....talk about action.

You talk like there's some threat of them getting into your bank account and stealing your life's savings. They can sure take your chips in a tournament, but come on :-) I have played with Phil Laak in a non-rebuy $10 tournament before. As long as everyone is being a pedantic fuck, I'll throw my 2 cents in:they're - their - there are NOT the same word. Learn to use them correctly. This is my #1 pet peeve, although I hate the "loose" and "rediculous" people as well...
