Sushiman 0
Reaction was pretty much a giant meh. I'd say the quality of the room falls somewhere between Tropicana and Borgata. The poker tables are chairs are pretty comfortable, although not as nice as the ones in Borgata, and the waitresses are again nowhere nearly as hot. The cool thing is that the tables have automatic shufflers, and two decks are in rotation so as soon as one hand is done a fresh shuffled deck is ready. This speeds up the game like you would not believe. However, the dealers are all straight out of dealer's school, and you can tell the majority of them do not play holdem. They were constantly misreading hands, and kept looking up to the players to see if they were actually pushing the pot to the right guy. My dealer didn't even know how to handle big/small blind if someone wants to leave after he is UTG. She actually told the guy he could not leave until he posts blind for the next hand, and the gentleman was nice enough to humor the dealer instead of calling the floor over to smack some sense into her. Very few people were in the room, although it was a friday afternoon. I wasn't surprised because Caesar's seems to not be advertising the place at all. I couldn't find anything on it on thier website and most of the players I talked to at Trop and Borgata had no idea it even opened.
KingoDiamonds 0
Thanks for the review. I mostly play at the Taj, but I assume that I will check out Caesar's eventually. What types of games do they spread, and how would you rate the level of play compared to say the Trop or Borgata?
iveyfan30 0
i play at the trop mostly...i would be intrested in hearing about the level of play as well...what limits did you play?
Sushiman 0
As far as friday afternoon was concerned, only low limit holdem and 1/2, 2/5 holdem. No omaha and no stud, and not surprising because the traffic was super low. Caesar's needs to run some publicity stat if they actually want to room to compete with the bigger ones. tswing 0
I go to AC all the time and I have some comments on Caesars. At this point there is really no reason to go there, unless you are looking to play some 2/4 limit, but these games are soft everywhere. Like stated before, the majority of the dealers are very new and that is extremely frustrating. The traffic is low yet much higher than the traffic at the Showboat.I am a big fan of the Tropicana poker room and obviously the Borgata, I do get the impression that games are a little harder to beat at the Borgata, but on any given day, who really knows. The Trop is the place to be unless you are looking for outrageous games like 75/150 stud at the Borg.Biggest problem with the Tropicana is the quality of beverages, they are pretty horrible, and the beer is especially crappy with small cups and no selection. At least at the Borgata you get a glass of beer, but Trop is where its at.
Sushiman 0
The only beer served in the Trop poker room is Milwaukee's Best. I can't even drink that until I'm actually drunk. I just go to the bar myself between hands and get 2 or 3 drinks and tip the bardtender a buck. Beats waiting an hour for the waitresses to show up.
