swoosh210 0
on sunday i deposited $50 in my party poker account. by tuesday night i had 935 dollars. i got greedy and started playing 3/6 and had winning sessions, then moved up to 5/10 and had one hell of a run. as many times as i've seen the 200 or 300 times the bb rule for you bankroll, i didn't head the advice. now i'm down to about $100 because those winning sessions turned into losing ones. a great few days turned into nothing cause i got greedy. maybe this will teach me a lesson and i'll learn to only play the stakes my bankroll allows. faketree 0
we've all done it. sometimes the best way to learn a lesson is to experience it for yourself.you probably won't do it again.
swoosh210 0
i could look through my hand history's and find some hand that turned my luck from good to bad, but it just comes down to my dumb play. i'll be the first to admit that i was lucky as hell for a few days.. every open ender i hit, every draw i hit. it was pretty crazy actually. but i just started to get cocky and was playing hand i dont usually play because i was over confident. i'll riffle through my hand historys so i can get some advice, but i just know that it was me not playing my usual game. i'm pleased to update that i'm back up to around $250 though. maybe i should just cash out and avoid the up and down swings. the_stein 0
Happened to me too, when I first got serious about poker I would take 1000 dollar swings per week just because I didn't manage my bankroll properly. Trust me, this has been a good experience for you, you will learn from it.
swoosh210 0
thanks. as tough as it is to swallow, it has been a very tough learning experince. the stupid thing was that i had planned on cashing out about half of it the next day so i could pay some bills. (i'm a college student) I really wanted to hit $1000. but shit happens.. i'll buld it up by playing stakes that i can afford to lose at. i'm currently playing .25/.50 NL and i'm doing well. thanks.
