First off, I just want to say that there are some highly intelligent posts and replies on here. Lots of smart poker players/individuals out there.Secondly----my topic:Anyone ever just sit down and wonder throughout the day of what it would feel like to play in the World Series of Poker? I know I wonder about it on a daily basis. To be able to sit in a room with 1000-1300 of the best poker players in the world (and the other 10% just having the bankroll to pretend they're the best---to get an entry) would be awesome. I'm currently in qualified in step 3 of 4 to play in the World Series of Poker. I'm trying to qualify online. If I win step 3 I play in the $1000 buy-in for a chance to get a fully paid entry into the 2005 WSOP!!!!!!!!!!!!! The point of my above message is that the PRO PLAYERS have done an exceptional job in promoting poker and they don't get enough credit. To me, about 80% of them are pros while the other 20% just label themselves as pros.My top 10 favorite poker players in rank and order are the following:1) Daniel Nag (my favorite player even before this website existed).2) Phil Gordon3) Doyle Brunson (can read a player like no other)4) Gus Hansen (despite what people say about his reckless play---he has a gift).5) Phil Ivey6) Chris Ferguson===one of the smartest players out there7) Myself (I think I could hang with a lot of the pros)8) Phil Helmuth (despite what people say about him---he's a highly intelligent and gifted poker player)9) Chris Moneymaker (again, I think he's an excellent player)10) Sammy Farha (an excellent player)p.s.I think I will play at this year's WSOP qualifying online. God blesses me in extraordinary ways and this is one of them.............

Not at all.............I never said I could take all of them..........Just stating that they are my favorite players and that I think I could hang with some of them. That is why I put myself in between them all.
You have the roll to play 2k-4k or 4k-8k? I guess anyone could "hang" or "play" with them if one has the means. Doesn't mean you'll win or lose though.Anyone could even say it. It's like those singers that show up on American Idol...most seem to think they can sing and belong in hollywood...nope.- Jordan

Once again jordan, you are missing the point here.............man, I'd love to sit down at a poker table with you! Seems like you've been on tilt all your life!!!
Well, I wasn't trying to be a dick, or rude.I guess I am missing the point. What is it?I don't really see what having to sit down with me at a poker table has anything to do with anything that's been said. Do you have something to proove to me? No. I don't care.Good day and good luck qualifying.- Jordan

Everyone wants to play in the WSOP, both players who haven't played, and players that have. It is THE tournament of the year, but,....What was so interesting about you wanting to play in the WSOP, and your "TOP 10". Anyhow, a few of your top 10 arent solid players?are you talking about tournaments, cash games or both? And Phil Gordon????? He isnt nearly a top 10A top 10 player should have at least built his whole bankroll, and himself as a poker person from the ground up. Phil Gordon is an internet millionaire who took up playing poker after he struck it rich. Moneymaker is not nearly top 10, he is ALRIGHT, but cannot hang at the table with 9 other top players. And who aare you, your trying to qualify for the WSOP? You would get cut up in the "big-game" or probably any fairly big game out there.Sorry though, I dont mean to flame you, but it just wasnt an interesting topic, you could have made it interesting, but to just say you hope to be in the WSOP, and you have a top 10 isnt interesting at all.

thats exactly what i was saying. there was not one thing intersting in this post.and the list is highly suspect as well. even though they are HIS favorites and everyone is entitled to their opinion. it just seems that this list is based off of some limited televised poker viewing. i mean, where is john juanda? he's one of the best tournament players around.and phil gordon? i mean come on. you might as well have put sam grizzle on your list as well.

Who cares how he picked the players, it's his list? I'm sure your list is based on how much better you know every player (right). Everything anyone knows is based on TV, unless they have written a book (which by the way Phil Gordon has).

First off:Thanks to those of you who have my back relating to this post! It definitely sparked some interest like my initial subject indicated.Secondly, it's those of you who speak so negatively towards my post that will get ate up at the poker table---especially in the long run. It's those players that respond negatively who are on tilt 9 out of 10 times because they just don't hit their ACE KING everytime etc........ I promise you--------I'm an extremely solid poker player and have won several live tourneys and missed qualifying for the WSOP barely last year...........I just get a kick out of people who get so defensive on here acting like they're GOD or something when it comes to poker.I was just llisting my favorite players..........and I still think Phil Gordon is one of the best.............he's highly intelligent and he'll be good for a long time............I did forget to people John Juanda on the list---he is solid as well.ANSWERS TO SOME REPLIES:I am 24I will try to qualify online for the WSOPI am a BANK MANAGER-----so----I do have some room to talk as far as being successful.............I am confident.

People who say this isn't interesting are somehow interested in saying how disenterested they are. All of you are on tilt, except for the original poster, who is understandably very interested in this topic. Good luck, and I will see you on tv soon.

Excellent repsonse Naugie. yes, I plan on being on TV soon playing poker. It's not necessarily my dream, but more like a reality that is definitely attainable..............i'm sure it makes sense to you sense you are one of the many intelligent people who responded to my post on here.~~~~~~~~~~~~~Thanks to those who had my back on this post & thanks to those who didn't..........TO THOSE WHO DIDN'T: I admire your opinion, but get off TILT.

...you mean Paul Phillips, right? Paul Phillips is the internet whiz-kid turned poker-monster. And to suggest Phil Gordon is anything but a very good poker player is pretty silly. If you're gonna make fun of futureWSOPwinner, at least do a good job of it.Ice

Im on "tilt" I think some people need to relax with the poker sometimes, life isnt a poker game, OK.
That's funny but I agree. First time poster but long time reader,......... and what I have discovered is there is a lot of people throwing around a lot of "poker terms" "poker talk" and droping a lot of names. A lot of "look what I know and see how knowledgable I am by the way I talk. The dudes post was a little weird, I'll agree with all of you that are supposed to "be on tilt" but some of the replies were a little harsh. I think Daniel and the web site admin didn't intend for the forums to be for us to flame eachother.Anyway that is my two cents. I appreciate all you guys, interesting reading, great web site.Danny

this will spark everyone's interest--even daniel's.. Everyone's interest should be sparked because you are in a satellite to the WSOP? Why?And putting Moneymaker in the top 10 of any poker list shows that you know absoultely nothing about poker, but you just watched the 2003 WS and saw him win it. Considering him top 10 in anything is moronic, unless you are compiling a list of the 10 luckiest people in the world.
