ako in bb vs 1 raiser (lhe)

Recommended Posts

2/4 Party - 10 handedVillian is moderately aggressive.Hero dealt A :D K :D in BB.Preflop:3 folds, MP raises, 5 folds, Hero calls.I call here because I don't want MP to put me on a big hand. If an ace falls, and he has a weaker one, this may help me get more money in on the big bet streets. If he has a pair like TT, he will find it a lot harder to get away from. Was this a good play or FPS? Flop (4.5sb): K :club: 7 :D 2 :) (2 players)Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls.I don't want to scare him yet. I want him to have the lead going into the turn. I think a checkraise is out of the question. Most players in position will usually raise this flop. Would bet/call be better?Turn (3.25bb): 4 :) Hero checks, MP bets, Hero...My plan worked, I got the villian to lead the turn. My question is whether or not I should raise here, or wait for the river. With a high straight draw, or a flush draw on the board, I'd be more inclined to raise the turn, since my opponent is more than likely to call the raise. Here, my opponent either has two unpaired high cards, a PP, or a weaker king. A pocket pair may fold to a raise, but may bet the river if I simply call. Two unpaired high cards will probably fold to a raise. And a weaker king will probably bet call a raise and a river bet, as well as bet/call the river if I simply check the turn.[/b]

It looks like you're about to slow play yourself into the ground.
Dude, you're playing 2/4, not 50/100.At this level, the guy likely won't know, or won't careabout what your check raise will mean...Hit the turn, and then lead out the river, unlessyou think he's stupid enough to fall for it againon the river....
