check out this thread on neverwin

Interesting, but, I don't think it's entirely relevant.Kinda doubting Neverwin(Dustin Woolf) sits at the table with DN for their match without first having bought in. Dustin also won, I believe, 503k at this year's WSOP. Even if he was backed, substantially, he's got a bit of money to kick around.

If they play for 200k.. he'll be "kicking around" the majority of his bankroll, unless he gets backers again for the match. I find it funny that he says "you have my number.. give me a time" when hes the challenger. Almost like he's avoiding setting up a real match through Travis.

As far as his bankroll, I don't know of anyone who can really come up with an accurate number. If another thread was true, he lost 190k last night playing 300/600. If you're able to take a hit of 190k to your bank roll, it'd stand to reason you could put up another 200k. From there, we can deduce his bankroll is in the million dollar range, or he's playing WAY over his bankroll. If you go read that post from 2+2 that's somewhere here in general, you can learn a lot about this guy's mindframe.Talented? No doubt. Does he handle money real well? Eh..from everything we know? Not so much. As far as DN ducking his challenge, purely ridiculous. If I issue you a challenge, it's not my responsibility to come track you down to hammer out the details. All in all, this thing is starting to spin out of control, as far as hype.Sure hope it lives up to it.

That's pretty shady stuff...Too much ego, too small a bankroll. My guess is he's waiting to play dn heads up for 200k since that's a big chunk of his bankroll. I'm sure he's trying to accumulate money so he has the bankroll to take that hit if he loses. I highly doubt he has more than a million dollar bankroll (keep in mind bankroll doesn't include houses, cars, etc. and even though he won a lot at the wsop this yr, u have to note the fact that no one deducts his buyins in tourneys he didn't cash in or lossses in cash games).

While the above is true, it doesn't take into account his winnings in cash games. We heard about Dustin's thumping Matusow for around 100k not too long ago, did we not?I'd say it's pretty safe to assume that he's going to be staked, somewhere in the 50-100k neighborhood.I'm sure he could put up the entire amount on his own, but I don't know that it'd be a real bright idea on his behalf. In all, I'm not trying to defend Dustin's wanting to play DN heads up. I don't think it's a real +EV move to be flipping coins for a substantial percentage of your bankroll.

I believe there was a post awhile ago in which Neverwin was talking about getting 50k stakes to play DN heads up...now I think he took home around 500k from the WSOP, but i have heard more about his big losses than big wins. Granted, im sure there's been playing of sessions i havent heard of through the internet poker rumor mill. Anyways, it seems to me like the 200k would be a substantial amount of his bankroll considering he was trying to build up stakes for it just a couple of months ago. The point? Um, Neverwin is a doucheclown...yeah, thats it.

Just curious...When you cats talk about "staking" a player, is this generally seen as a deal for someone to front the money for them to play with, and should they lose it generally not have to pay it back in the full amount, if any at all, therefore being seen as a gamble and possible investment to the person fronting the stake....Or is it generally more times then none _always_ expected to be paid back in full when someone stakes a player for a match such as this.....I have a rule about gambling away with money I do not have to begin with so I find this hard to understand if someone doesnt have the bankroll to play so big as in this case, why would they want to or anyone else want to make this move.......unless you just go bad, and a friend is there to help you get up, I would be hard pressed to play with money I dont own, particularly ALOT of money I dont have.Im sure deals will vary and what not depending on the situation, relationship, money etc etc....But just curious about it-
