time to hang up the tinfoil hat

I wonder if a bolt of lightning has ever struck someone wearing a tin foil hat..
That's got to hurt. But would guarantee that the next 3 runner-runner flush draws don't hit against you.

In addition, when an institution asks you to trust them with large quantities of your money, it is usually considered reasonable to expect them to establish their trustworthiness. When it comes to investing, the refusal to accept abscence of evidence of untrustworthiness as evidence of abscence of untrustworthy behavior is not generally seen as an instance of lunacy on a par with wearing tinfoil hats to protect oneself from mindreaders.
You're quite right. It's seen as a sign to not put your money with them. Yet instead, you go online and accuse these institutions of fraud, of which you have no evidence. When it comes to investing, this is called libel, which of course, is a suable offense. If you think it's rigged, don't play. If you can prove, it, I would be one of the first to take a look. Until then, STFU.

The internet poker industry is NOT run by wiz kids or the mafia, but it is run by gangsters. Or more accurately, gangstas. 2pac & Biggie, from their super secret underwater fortress. They used four genetically engineered super genius chimps to create & incorporate an advanced bad beat technology program codenamed Project: Kick in the Nuts (aka nagging Mother-in-law). The program doesn't target everyone, just those without a double layered tinfoil hat that has been soaked in veggie oil(their aces NEVER get cracked).I understand that you may want proof, well here goes(over dramatic pause) I.....am....one of those super genius chimps.(dramatic music follows)PS. I'm a monkey just looking to share my bananaMekanic the super chimp
Dude, you're gonna get me fired. I just busted out laughing in my cubicle. PS--online poker really is fixed. no, really, seriously.

A lot of the criticisms of my post make the point that the burden of proof lies with anyone who is making accusations against online poker, and so ad hominem attacks on the mental stability of anyone who doubts online poker's integrity without such proof are warranted. I can think of two reasons, however, that a reasonable person who is new to online poker could be justified in placing the burden of proof on the defenders of online poker. The first, as alluded to in my original post, the gaming industry has a long history of rampant corruption. It would not normally be considered a symptom of paranoia if a new hire at a trucking company were to be initially suspicious of his local teamsters union officials, even if he had no specific knowledge of any wrong doing on their behalf. A 50 year history of involvement with organized crime is considered sufficient to shift the burden of proof to the teamsters. The gaming industry's history warrants a similar suspicion.
Are you a lawyer or just trying to sound like one?Every site should have some sort of statement by an independent auditor that has examined their RNG, if you still think it's not random then don't play there, it's really that simple.Anyone who thinks online poker is rigged and yet still plays it amuses me.Also everyone knows that without a pattern mapper the tinfoil hat is useless.

I'm having some trouble here. If the site is 'rigged' against 'the player' then it is 'rigged' against every player which means it is 'rigged' against no one.Other casino games have a casino edge that can be increased but poker is players against players. The site gets the rake no matter who wins or loses. Perhaps making it a 'close call', e.g. Aces vs. Kings, would ensure max rake but it would still wash in the long run. And keep in mind this is a "long run" situation to make the stats stick. 26 hands does not accurately reflect your "luck". By they way, that tagline about luck being excitement over bad math is just the best.If you simply must believe it is rigged then use this equation:rigged_factor = 1 / number_of_hands_playedI'm pretty sure the popular poker servers actually use that. Yep, pretty sure. No, wait!I've figured it out. Poker sites randomly choose a person logged on to win. Or the person is a poker pro (the site just knows). THAT'S how they keep mysteriously winning. It actually has NOTHING to do with their ability!Ok, thanks for helping me think this through. Now I understand.P.S. I'd like to order the fancy armadillo hat with the feather in it.

"From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.Occam's Razor (also spelt Ockham's Razor), is a principle attributed to the 14th-century English logician and Franciscan friar, William of Ockham. It forms the basis of methodological reductionism, also called the principle of parsimony or law of economy. In its simplest form, Occam's Razor states that one should make no more assumptions than needed. Put into everyday language, it saysThe simplest explanation is the best. When multiple explanations are available for a phenomenon, the simplest version is preferred. For example, a charred tree on the ground could be caused by a landing alien ship or a lightning strike. According to Occam's Razor, the lightning strike is the preferred explanation as it requires the fewest assumptions."Let's see we can set up some simple software and servers to host poker games and take a cut of the action and enjoy the profits....or we can do all of that then come up with advanced AI programs that find good players, target them and continually guarantee that they get sucked out on and increase out profits astronomically while risking the good faith of our patrons!

we all know that online poker could be rigged
Of course it COULD be rigged. I COULD someday have a 3-way with Pam Anderson and Angelina Jolie. The odds are pretty slim though, don't you think?Ask yourself this... Why, WHY, for the love of poker would a host site favor any one player over another? All they have to do is sit there and host the games honestly and they get paid. All they would do is risk their entire money making operation by hosting crooked games. Once word got out, they'd be out!So, let's review... Host games honestly, make tons of cash. OR... Host crooked games, make the same amount of cash but risk losing that cash if caught.I think it's pretty easy to see. Now, you want to talk online BlackJack, Roulette, etc. That's a whole different story. Anytime the house has a stake in whether you win or lose I don't doubt for a second that they might tweak things in their favor.

We'll hang up the tinfoil hat references when people start using common sense before posting stupid topics with obvious answers.BTW has anyone got their copy of sneaky peek yet, it's awesome, it really does show your opponents hole cards during the actual hand! I've made $50,000.00 just today and all for the low investment of $29.99!

We'll hang up the tinfoil hat references when people start using common sense before posting stupid topics with obvious answers. and ones that have been beaten to death. search for 'rigged', read the 3 million previous threads. I guarantee any point you bring up has been debated ad nauseum before.
